The purpose of the Hue Kite Festival 2019 is to affirm Hue's title as Vietnam's Festival City, gradually building the image of Hue as a festival capital, transforming it from a cultural brand into a tourism brand with strong appeal and attractiveness to tourists. In addition, it is an opportunity to enhance and diversify tourism activities in Thua Thien Hue province, introduce unique festivals and new, creative tourism experiences to tourists; create opportunities for tourism service businesses to showcase their products and link economic sectors to participate in creating common tourism products for Thua Thien Hue province.
The art kite exhibition will last 7 days and will include activities such as: arranging and displaying art kites to create a unique and attractive space; exhibiting installation art with a theme; demonstrating the art of kite making, and guiding participants through the steps of creating a complete kite.
On this occasion, visitors will also be able to participate in side activities such as folk games, a basic kite-assembling competition, and a kite-painting competition with the theme "Childhood Dreams". Most notably, an artistic kite-flying performance will take place at Ngo Mon Square on the afternoons of June 8th and 9th (from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM).
