The project is organized by Thuong Nhat Company (the investor of the Saigon Waterbus river bus route) in collaboration with students from music schools and conservatories in Ho Chi Minh City, providing free service to the public. This is also a new highlight for sightseeing and tourism in the city center after Bach Dang Wharf Park came into operation.
Following a successful inaugural event on the evening of February 26th, the street music festival "A Date with Saigon" returned for its second performance on Saturday, March 5th, at Bach Dang ferry terminal, attracting many locals and tourists who stopped to enjoy the show.

Lecturer Nguyen Tan Loc - Deputy Head of the Western Instrumental Music Department, Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music - shared: "I am very happy to be able to share my musical passion with young people in a spacious riverside setting, in a dynamic city like Ho Chi Minh City."
He and the teachers at the school are ready to participate in performances to motivate students and give them more opportunities to experience and confidently express their music.
"I really like outdoor music venues because they help people connect easily. Anyone who likes listening to music can come and listen freely and share their feelings with each other," shared Nguyen Anh Phuong, expressing her joy at discovering a new street music meeting place.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Toan - Director of Thuong Nhat Company - said, "'A Date with Saigon' is a non-profit street music and art project held every Saturday from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Bach Dang Wharf. After a period of implementation, if accepted by tourists, the project will be expanded in terms of time and number of days per week, and will also include music programs on night buses to serve tourists."
"The project was organized with the desire to serve the community, contributing to promoting the cultural and historical heritage of the old Saigon's waterways; and at the same time bringing back the vibrant life of Ho Chi Minh City, which is reviving after the pandemic," Mr. Toan said.
