Vietnam Television confirms the return of the show "Meet at the Weekend"
Director Khai Anh also confirmed to Dan Tri reporter that Weekend Meeting will return to VTV3, scheduled to start in March. This year's program will still be hosted by him. "Weekend Meeting" is a comedy program that first aired on Saturday morning, April 1, 2000. The program's idea was initiated by director, People's Artist Khai Hung.
The program, which lasted about 40 minutes, quickly won the hearts of a large audience and became one of the most popular comedy shows. “Weekend Meeting” was also the launching pad that brought the names of artists: Minh Vuong, Pham Bang, Van Hiep, Quoc Khanh, Xuan Bac, Cong Ly, Tu Long, Van Dung… to fame and closer to the audience.
The show made the names of many famous comedians
In the early stages, the show was broadcast every two weeks. Later, thanks to the strong appeal of the script and the talented cast, the show was broadcast regularly every Saturday morning. By December 2006, the show ended its broadcast with a special episode featuring the image of the Titanic on stage, gathering many comedians from the North and South.
The show returns with light-hearted yet poignant satire revolving around current issues.
The plot revolves around a five-star ship carrying laughter and joy to everyone, but before reaching the dock, it hit an iceberg and had to stop its journey. After “Gập nhau cuối tuần” ended, since 2007, the program Gala Cuoi - a part of Gap nhau cuối tuần - has been maintained and broadcast once a quarter. Since 2010, Gala Cuoi has been broadcast regularly on the evening of the 2nd day of Lunar New Year on VTV3.
