In addition, travelers must also present documentation proving they have purchased travel insurance, including health insurance with a coverage amount (in case of illness) of at least US$50,000. These requirements were first announced in mid-June and the exact amounts were updated on June 16th.
Cambodian officials said people would get a refund upon departure, but not the full amount. According to an announcement made on June 16th, travelers entering the country will be taken to a Covid-19 testing facility for a fee of $5 (transportation). They will then have to pay an additional $100 for the test itself. Finally, travelers will be taken to hotels or quarantine centers and isolated at a cost of $30 per night, plus an additional $30 for meals, while awaiting test results. This is the scenario assuming no one on the same flight tests positive.
In the event that Cambodia detects a case of infection on the plane, all passengers will be required to quarantine for 14 days, at a cost of $60 per day including food and accommodation. Laundry costs $15, the cost for medical staff at the quarantine center is $6, and security is $3 per day.

For tourists who test positive for Covid-19, the costs are even higher. Medical treatment in hospitals costs $180 per day. This price is based on the price list of public hospitals. Finally, if a tourist is unlucky enough to die here from Covid-19, they will lose an additional $1,500 from their $3,000 deposit to cover funeral and cremation services. Therefore, the cost could exceed the $3,000 deposit, which is why tourists need to purchase insurance when visiting.
Additionally, travelers must provide a health certificate from their country of origin, including a negative Covid-19 test result. The test result will only be accepted if it was taken within 72 hours prior to boarding the flight.
