Le Quy Tai, founder of Xanh Camping, is one of the first few people to include De Nhat Thac in the list of worthwhile natural experiences in Phu Yen. He knew about this place in 2018 through random photos online, but it was not until 2023, when he had enough experience and preparation, that he really embarked on a journey of discovery.

With no clear signs or established trails, the journey to the First Waterfall requires perseverance and a bit of daring. “We had a hard time finding our way because no one gave us detailed instructions. The water level here is very deep and there have been many unfortunate accidents, so the locals are often hesitant to mention it,” Tai shared.
From the starting point, visitors must trek through the forest for about 1km, overcome rough terrain, climb over cliffs, and even swim through deep water to reach the foot of the waterfall. The journey is arduous but opens up a magnificent natural landscape never seen before.

As soon as you arrive, you will be overwhelmed by the wildness and majesty of this waterfall. “What impressed me most was the feeling of the waterfall pouring directly onto me. Thanks to a small lake inside, we could bathe in the waterfall and have fun safely. The clear, cool water made all worries seem to disappear. Just standing in front of that scene, I felt so comfortable that I was absent-minded and didn’t want to leave,” Tai recounted.
In the middle of the wild wilderness, the waterfall pours down like a symphony of the mountains and forests of Phu Yen.
In front of the waterfall is a large heart-shaped lake, a natural masterpiece when viewed from above. Further away, infinity pools connect one another, creating a mysterious and poetic space. In particular, visitors can also experience the feeling of small fish nibbling at their feet while immersing themselves in the cool water – a moment that makes people deeply connect with nature.

It feels both adventurous and close to nature,” Tai excitedly shared.

Another interesting point is the space completely separated from the outside world. No phone signal, no city noise, this place helps people truly connect with each other. “We always want to become local guides, bringing local culture and stories to tourists. Moreover, it helps tourists have fun safely, connect and understand more about the nature here,” Tai confided.

Things to note when visiting the First Waterfall
Beautiful but also challenging, the First Waterfall is not a destination for everyone. According to Tai, this journey is most suitable for those who are physically fit, passionate about exploring and between the ages of 6 and 35. To ensure safety, visitors should always wear life jackets when swimming, bring swimsuits and swimming goggles for a better experience. In addition, asking the locals will help you get more practical information about water levels and routes, avoiding unnecessary risks when exploring this wild place.
