The first group of Chinese tourists returns to Khanh Hoa.

This is the first flight bringing Chinese tourists to Khanh Hoa, after the Chinese government officially allowed group tours to enter Vietnam from March 15th.

Bamboo Airways flight QH9583, carrying 153 tourists, departed from Macau at 4:30 PM and landed at Cam Ranh International Airport at 5:40 PM. Leaders from the Department of Tourism, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, Cam Ranh International Airport, Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company, and other relevant units went to the boarding stairs to welcome and present gifts to the tourists from Macau. The Macau tourists were very excited to visit Khanh Hoa after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “This is my first time in Nha Trang. It’s been a long time since I traveled, so I’m very excited. Before coming here, I did some research and learned that Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa has beautiful beaches and many water sports and recreational activities… I will spend time exploring and enjoying the local cuisine,” shared female tourist Truong Van Van (from Macau).

The group will stay at Duyen Ha Resort from now until April 7th. During this time, guests will enjoy entertainment at Vinwonders Nha Trang, take tours to famous historical sites and landmarks in Nha Trang, take a tour of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa's signature islands, explore Nha Trang's night market, and enjoy services at Samadhi Spa…

Following this flight, Bamboo Airways, in collaboration with AsiaTourist, will organize charter flights from Macao to Cam Ranh with a frequency of 4 flights per week. From May and June 2023, Bamboo Airways will successively operate additional routes from Shanghai to Cam Ranh and from Fuzhou (Fujian Province) to Cam Ranh with a frequency of 3 flights per week. Mr. Nguyen Van Duong - Asia Tourist Trading and Tourism Company Limited, said that the company is coordinating with strategic partners to open up the Chinese tourist market, organizing flights to bring tourists from major cities in China to Vietnam.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, China was Khanh Hoa's largest international tourist market, with approximately 2.5 million visitors (in 2019), accounting for over 70% of the province's international tourists. The return of tourists from Macau in particular, and Chinese tourists in general, is expected to help Khanh Hoa's tourism sector achieve its goal of welcoming 1.5 million international visitors in 2023. "We hope that, following the Macau - Cam Ranh route, Asia Tourist and Bamboo Airways will continue to cooperate and develop more routes and flights to attract Chinese tourists to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, contributing to the development of Khanh Hoa province's tourism industry in the future," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of the Department of Tourism.
