During a tour of Hanoi by double-decker bus on the morning of May 18th, more than 30 members of the Thai sepak takraw team, including athletes and coaches, had the opportunity to experience and explore famous landmarks in the capital city. Starting from Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, the group passed by many famous scenic spots and historical sites in Hanoi such as: the Grand Cathedral, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Quan Thanh Temple, Tran Quoc Pagoda, and the Temple of Literature.

Approximately 30 Thai athletes and coaches gathered at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square to board a double-decker bus for a sightseeing tour of Hanoi.
The head of the Thai sepak takraw delegation, Mr. Pairoj Archarungroj, said that this trip provided many interesting experiences and a time for rest and relaxation for the coaches and athletes in the delegation, after a stressful period of training and competing at the SEA Games 31. This was also the first time that Thai sepak takraw coaches and athletes experienced sightseeing in Hanoi on a double-decker bus, as this service is not available in Bangkok.

Mr. Pairoj Archarungroj further shared: "The tour on the double-decker bus was really interesting. We were impressed by the beautiful scenery of Hanoi, with many green trees and flowers along the way. Personally, I visited Hanoi 10 years ago, and this time, returning, Hanoi has changed a lot; it's much more developed and beautiful. What impressed us most was the delicious food in Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular. After the SEA Games, I will return to Vietnam, planning to take my family to Da Nang. Thai people really like Da Nang."
Thai athletes visited the Temple of Literature in Hanoi.
Thailand's men's sepak takraw team head coach, Veeras Na Nongkhai, expressed: "I am very impressed that your lives have completely returned to normal after the Covid-19 pandemic. Hanoi is beautiful, the environment is clean, and there are many trees along the streets. The historical sites, tourist attractions, and streets are all crowded, and everyone is very happy."
During their "Hanoi City Tour," the Thai athletes' delegation spent approximately 60 minutes stopping to learn about the Temple of Literature.
The athletes listened to a presentation about Vietnam's first university.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Director of Yen Vien Bus Enterprise (the unit operating the "Hanoi City tour" double-decker buses), affirmed: "The 31st SEA Games is a major event in Hanoi after the reopening and tourism stimulus program. We are very eager to promote the image of the capital and Vietnam to international tourists so that they can have enjoyable experiences and see the hospitality of the Vietnamese people. The unit has improved the quality and hygiene of the buses and assigned more staff to serve international guests, while also preparing backup buses to increase service when needed."

The athletes have some time to relax after the matches are over.
The "Hanoi City Tour" double-decker bus experience, offered by the Hanoi Transport Corporation, is providing free entrance tickets to delegates, including international athletes, coaches, and journalists attending the 31st SEA Games. This is one of Hanoi's tourism products serving the 31st SEA Games.
