In 2019, Khanh Hoa province was honored to be chosen by the Government and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the host locality for the National Tourism Year 2019. Therefore, the 9th Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival, held from May 10 to 13, 2019 in the coastal city of Nha Trang, will be the key activity and highlight of the locality in response to the National Tourism Year Program 2019. This event aims to introduce, honor, preserve and promote the spiritual values and cultural identity of the sea and islands of the land and people of Khanh Hoa throughout history as well as in the construction and development of the homeland today.
With the theme "Nha Trang - Colors of the Sea" (also the main theme of the National Tourism Year 2019), this Sea Festival focuses on activities that demonstrate the harmony between the traditional cultural colors of the nation and the contemporary and modern cultural colors. In addition to the main programs held every night at 2/4 Square, Nha Trang city such as: Opening Ceremony of National Tourism Year 2019 and Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2019; Colorful World Music Festival Program and Closing Ceremony of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2019; Festival Week also has about 50 programs held at small stages along Tran Phu Street, promising to bring visitors many activities with typical coastal characteristics.
Besides, there are also many scientific seminars, art exhibitions, art displays, sports activities, festivals... and many cultural and artistic activities held in some other localities of Khanh Hoa province.
The 9th Sea Festival is a bridge connecting domestic and international friends to show the image of a dynamic land, actively developing and integrating with the traditional cultural values of Vietnam in general and of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa in particular.
This year's program still uses the logo of the Swallow Bird - Swallow Island as a traditional symbol of the region, symbolizing the resilience and bravery of Khanh Hoa people. At the same time, the entire program is staged by VNC Media Joint Stock Company, with poet Phan Thi Huyen Thu as the scriptwriter, with breakthroughs in ideas, technology, sound, light and content layout, along with the message of integration, innovation, development but still having to maintain one's cultural identity.
Sea Festival is a trademark event of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, attracting millions of visitors each year.
