Since 2005, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival, held annually in April, has become a major tourism promotion event with many attractive activities for domestic and international tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City every summer.
This year's Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival will take place from April 11th to 14th, 2019, at Zone B, 23/9 Park, District 1, marking its 15th edition. It promises to continue offering visitors many attractive, novel, and discounted summer travel experiences. This is an opportunity for the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry in general, and tourism businesses, destinations, and provinces in particular, to focus on promoting tour programs, services, and tourism products during the summer to a market of over 12 million tourists in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding areas, with the goal of attracting an increasing number of domestic and international tourists to the city.
A large number of delegates and representatives from travel agencies attended the press conference for the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2019.
At the press conference, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism signed a joint plan to coordinate the implementation of a tourism stimulus program with preferential prices for students, workers, and laborers in 2019 with the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Transport, the Management Board of Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks of Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Volunteer Force, the Association of Industrial Park Enterprises of Ho Chi Minh City, etc.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, shared that coordination among departments will contribute to promoting tourism activities and cultural and historical exploration for visitors, especially students, young people, and the workforce. This will help make the process of promoting Ho Chi Minh City as an "Attractive - Friendly - Safe" destination more appealing and effective.
The organizers presented flowers and took commemorative photos with representatives of the travel companies.
The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2019 is expected to feature more than 150 exhibition booths from over 40 businesses, including: travel agencies, hotels; shopping and dining establishments meeting standards; tourism transportation; domestic and international airlines; and districts and communes within the city, along with more than 30 provinces and cities.

The planned layout for the festival will include two areas: a cluster of tourism booths showcasing tourism stimulus programs from Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces; and a cluster of culinary tourism booths introducing visitors to the diverse and rich cuisine of Ho Chi Minh City and other regions. Each booth will have its own design and space, reflecting the unique characteristics and tourism products and services of each participating unit. Businesses will hold customer meet-and-greet sessions, introduce and offer new and attractive tourism products and services through cultural and artistic activities, games with prizes, and discounted tour prices. In particular, different promotional programs each day will provide customers with more choices.
The organizers expect that revenue and the number of tourists purchasing tours during the 2019 Tourism Festival will increase by 20-25% compared to last year.
The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival Organizing Committee will create the most favorable conditions for tourists to visit and purchase unique and high-quality tour packages. This tourism event is expected to become a reputable and high-quality communication and promotion channel for Ho Chi Minh City tourism, contributing positively to stimulating the tourism market and creating opportunities for localities and businesses to access and introduce quality tourism products and services to consumers. It is projected that revenue and the number of tourists purchasing tours at this year's Tourism Festival will increase by 20-25% compared to 2018.
