The race route passes through major roads, with athletes running along Dong Khoi, Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Hue, Vo Van Kiet, Nguyen Huu Canh streets, and finishing in the Thu Thiem new urban area (District 2).
In the professional 42.195 km race, Kenyan athlete Rotich Jane won the Gold Medal with a time of 3 hours 2 minutes and 34 seconds. The Silver Medal went to Kenyan athlete Kigen Caroline with a time of 3 hours 15 minutes and 05 seconds. The Bronze Medal was won by Vietnamese athlete Nguyen Chi with a time of 3 hours 22 minutes and 04 seconds.

In the men's 42.195 km race, the gold medal went to Kenyan athlete Keter Peter with a time of 2 hours 28 minutes and 47 seconds. The silver medal went to Birgen Geoffrey, also from Kenya, with a time of 2 hours 35 minutes and 46 seconds. The bronze medal went to Vietnamese athlete Do Quoc Luat with a time of 2 hours 43 minutes and 59 seconds.

During the awards ceremony, the Organizing Committee also presented medals to athletes who finished the 21.1km and 10km races across five age groups ranging from 18 to 69 years old. In addition, the organizing committee awarded official medals to all athletes who completed the race within the time limit.

In celebration of the season, the Organizing Committee also held many attractive activities such as: the "Kids Run" children's marathon, a 2km race for children aged 6 to 14, taking place on the afternoon of November 25, 2017, aiming to encourage and foster a love of sports and physical activity among children for a healthy lifestyle and beneficial outdoor activities.
