The 2017 Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon kicks off.

The Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon 2017 is the first international tourism and sports event organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the Department of Culture and Sports, the City Athletics Federation, in collaboration with Sunrise Vietnam Event Company. The event is expected to attract 6,000 domestic and international athletes.

The Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon 2017 aims to encourage physical exercise and sports training to protect and improve the health and quality of life of the people, build a healthy lifestyle and cultural environment, and create a cultural and sports exchange platform for domestic and international tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, it aims to promote the image of Ho Chi Minh City – an “Attractive - Friendly - Safe” destination for tourists.

The Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon 2017 features various distances for amateur athletes, semi-professional athletes, professional athletes, charities, schools, domestic and international tourists, and celebrities.

The race route will take athletes and fans through streets, locations, and architectural landmarks associated with the history and development of Ho Chi Minh City; thereby promoting the culture and history of Ho Chi Minh City.

The specific race distances are: 42.195km; 21km and 10km.

The Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon 2017 is the first competition in the city's plan to organize annual sports tourism events, aiming to build the image of a tourism city associated with healthcare, health, and community.

How to register to attend

Registration for the marathon opened on August 30, 2017, on the website.www.marathonhcmc.com.

Athletes who are Techcombank cardholders will receive a 10% discount on registration fees for all race distances.
