According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, during the 4-day National Day holiday on September 2, the total number of tourists to Hanoi is estimated to reach nearly 673,000, with total revenue from tourists estimated to reach more than VND2,180 billion.
Specifically, the total number of tourists to Hanoi during the recent holiday is estimated at 672,900, up 5% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international tourists are estimated at 58,900, up 35.8% over the same period last year (some leading markets are India, South Korea, China, Japan, Australia, the US, and the UK). Domestic tourists are estimated at 614,000, up 3.6% over the same period last year. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at more than VND 2,180 billion, up 8.3% over the same period in 2023.
On the occasion of National Day September 2 this year, the number of visitors and tourists in Hanoi increased
During the National Day holiday on September 2 this year, many tourism stimulus programs, cultural and entertainment activities were held in Hanoi, thereby enhancing experiences and attracting domestic and international tourists to the capital.

Hanoi Department of Tourism said that on the occasion of National Day September 2 this year, at some tourist destinations in Hanoi such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, the central area of Thang Long Imperial Citadel - Hanoi, Hoan Kiem Lake area and Ngoc Son Temple... the number of tourists increased, including international visitors and visitors from other provinces and cities to Hanoi.
Some key tourist areas and spots in Hanoi recorded a significant number of visitors, such as Hanoi Zoo welcoming 76,600 visitors, Hoan Kiem Lake walking space welcoming about 47,000 visitors, Hoa Lo Prison relic welcoming 28,000 visitors, Son Tay walking street space and Son Tay ancient citadel relic welcoming about 15,000 visitors; Ao Vua tourist area welcoming 15,000 visitors; Museum of Ethnology welcoming 6,500 visitors; Gia Lam district tourist spots (Bat Trang, Kim Lan, Duong Xa, Phu Dong) welcoming about 5,000 visitors...
On this occasion, the Hanoi Department of Tourism coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board to present 28,000 gifts to visitors to the Mausoleum; thereby demonstrating the affection and responsibility in the service, reception and propaganda work of each cadre, employee and soldier. This activity also promotes the political and cultural significance of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, as well as promotes the image of the capital's tourism to the people and international visitors.
In addition, the Department of Tourism coordinated with the Thang Long Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center and the Vietnamese Village Communal House Club to organize the parade "Ao Dai connecting Tourism with Hanoi Heritage in 2024" attracting a large number of tourists and the active participation of officials, civil servants of agencies, units and people of the Capital as well as domestic and international tourists.
Historical sites also attract large numbers of tourists.
For shopping centers, shopping, entertainment and dining establishments serving tourists all recorded a high increase in the number of visitors and revenue during the 4-day holiday. It is estimated that during the 4-day holiday, the average room occupancy rate of hotels and tourist apartments in Hanoi reached about 61.2%, an increase of 1.7% over the same period in 2023. Some 4-5 star hotels and luxury apartment complexes have quite high room occupancy rates such as Novotel Thai Ha Hotel reaching 82.3%, Sheraton Hotel reaching 91.3%, Pullman Hanoi Hotel reaching 99%...
Many programs and festivals to celebrate Independence Day have been successfully organized, attracting the attention of many people and tourists. Destinations and tourism businesses in Hanoi have strengthened the organization of welcoming tourists, ensuring security and order, traffic safety, food safety and hygiene, environmental sanitation, and promptly meeting the conditions for serving tourists.
