Hanoi attaches QR codes to tourist attractions.

28/10/2020

The Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Voi Phuc Temple, Quan Thanh Temple, the Flagpole, and One Pillar Pagoda are equipped with QR codes to help tourists look up information.

The project to install QR codes at tourist attractions in Ba Dinh district started on October 8th. Similar to previous QR code installation projects in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Tay Ho district, when visitors scan the code using a QR app, an information link will be sent to their personal phones. Using QR code scanning software will help reduce the number of tour guides needed at historical sites.

The project involves attaching QR codes to street name signs in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is the first step in the process of building an "Electronic Tourist Guide" for Ba Dinh district. Afterward, not only historical sites but also all services related to food, accommodation, and transportation will be coded in the guide, making it easy for tourists to look up information.

Xu hướng du lịch sử dụng mã QR dần trở nên thịnh hành tại nhiều nơi trên thế giới.

The trend of using QR codes in travel is becoming increasingly popular in many parts of the world.

Ba Dinh district has approximately 73 historical sites, and 5 tourist destinations have been assigned trial QR codes. By the end of 2020, it is expected that two-thirds of the total number of tourist destinations in the district will have QR codes. For localities that do not yet have their own tourism websites, considering the creation of such an "electronic tourism guide" is entirely feasible.
