On May 6th, Phu Quoc High-Speed Ferry Joint Stock Company, in collaboration with Company 189 under the General Department of Defense Industry, held a launching ceremony for the Thang Long super-ship in preparation for its operation, serving passengers and tourists on the Vung Tau - Con Dao route, expected in June 2022.
The Thang Long high-speed passenger train uses the world's most modern, fuel-efficient, and environmentally friendly Rolls-Royce MTU engines from Germany, reaching a maximum speed of 55.5 km/h. The train has four decks, two Eco cabins, and one VIP cabin, with a total capacity of 1,017 passengers. The top deck is dedicated to a bar and café.

The Thang Long yacht is designed with a hull made of imported Italian aluminum alloy, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 30 knots, with a total power of 11,580 horsepower and the ability to withstand waves up to level 7. The yacht is 77.46 meters long and features a special bow design that enhances wave-cutting ability, increases stability, and minimizes longitudinal rolling.
The Thang Long ship's bow is specially designed, resembling a dagger, to enhance stability and minimize longitudinal swaying when the ship is operating at sea.
The larger size of the ship minimizes the effects of longitudinal rocking that smaller ships cannot. The Thang Long ship is designed specifically for the Vung Tau - Con Dao route, which is the most challenging and longest route from the mainland to Vietnam's tourist islands.
Mr. Vu Van Khuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Phu Quoc High-Speed Ferry Joint Stock Company, said that to date, the company's fleet has reached 11 advanced and safe vessels, among the best in Vietnam, which have been operating routes from the mainland to the country's pearl islands such as Phu Quoc Island, Con Dao Island, Nam Du Island, and most recently, the Da Nang to Ly Son Island route.
