According to Mr. Dinh Viet Thang, Director of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, the collision occurred when a Vietjet Airbus A321 Neo aircraft taxied onto the tarmac after completing flight VJ404 from Da Lat to Hanoi and had just landed at Noi Bai Airport.
While the flight crew was manually taxiing the aircraft to parking position 52C, the wingtip of this aircraft struck the wingtip of another Vietjet Airbus parked nearby, causing damage to the wingtips of both aircraft. A piece of the wingtip of aircraft VJ404 broke off and fell to the ground.

Fortunately, the collision resulted in no casualties, and all passengers and crew on flight VJ404 were safely disembarked.
The Northern Aviation Authority has drawn up a report, temporarily confiscated the pilot's license on flight VJ404, and is working with runway signaling personnel to investigate the cause. Simultaneously, the two aircraft involved in the collision have been temporarily taken out of service.
Following the incident, the leaders of the Northern Aviation Authority were present at the scene to assess the situation and report the incident to the Civil Aviation Authority.
