Hanoi Department of Tourism held a meeting to discuss hotel stimulus programs and communication activities for the stimulus program "Hanoi people and tourists experience services at 4-5 star hotels in Hanoi" in 2024.
According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Hanoi currently has 3,760 accommodation establishments with 71,246 rooms. Specifically, there are 607 hotels and apartment buildings ranked from 1 to 5 stars, with a total of 26,641 rooms. Since the beginning of the year, the number of visitors to and staying in Hanoi has increased. Specifically, in May 2024, the average room occupancy rate of the hotel block reached 64.7%, an increase of 1.0% over the same period in 2023.
Hanoi stimulates tourism towards the 70th anniversary of the capital's liberation
It is expected that in the first 6 months of the year, the average room occupancy rate of the hotel sector will reach 63.9%, an increase of 2.8% over the same period in 2023. Some 4-5 star hotels in the central area of Hanoi, such as Melia, Sheraton, Hilton Opera... will welcome many business groups in the form of MICE tourism.
In order to attract tourists in the summer and fall of 2024 and on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10), the Hanoi Department of Tourism organizes a stimulus program for Hanoians and tourists to experience services at 4-5 star hotels in the capital.
Many 5-star hotels are offering discounts in response to the above campaign.
Responding to the tourism stimulus program to attract tourists to experience, 4-5 star hotels in Hanoi have launched many preferential policies and tourism stimulus service packages including: Preferential price policies; tourism stimulus service packages such as combo of accommodation - food/drink/tea party - gala; room - conference - shuttle; combo of food/drink - swimming; discount vouchers when using services,...
This is the first time the Hanoi Department of Tourism has organized this stimulus program and received the response of many 4-5 star hotels, travel businesses, passenger transport companies, and destinations in the capital.
The Department of Tourism also orients and encourages hotels and travel agencies to participate in the program of building attractive service packages to attract Hanoi residents, domestic and international tourists to stay and experience. Thereby, promoting the image and brand of hotels in the city, while increasing the room occupancy rate at tourist accommodation establishments, especially during the off-peak period.
The Department connects travel and transportation service businesses with hotels and destinations to build attractive, highly competitive tourism product packages that attract a large number of Hanoi residents and tourists to experience.
Typical examples include the "Summer indulgence staycation" package of the Hotel de l'Opera Hanoi; the "City Vacation" and "Luxurious Afternoon Tea" products of the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel, the "Happy Summer Vacation" product of the Movenpick Living West Hanoi Hotel, etc.
Although hotels have organized room discount programs, according to tourism experts, to attract guests, in addition to discount policies, Hanoi needs to have more experiential tourism products to keep visitors staying longer.
Hanoi is aiming to develop tourism in the direction of high quality, branded tourism, imbued with national cultural identity, turning the city into a large, branded, highly competitive cultural and tourism center, with a development level on par with the capitals of developed countries in the region and the world.
