Hawaii's tourism industry recently announced that it will pay visitors to leave during this time if they do not agree to quarantine for 14 days as required by the state.
As of April 1, the Governor of Hawaii has required visitors to Hawaii to self-quarantine for 2 weeks.
Accordingly, the non-profit organization Visitor Aloha Society will be responsible for assisting tourists in Hawaii with medical issues and other general issues during their trip, including quarantine periods if the tourists agree.
Conversely, if visitors to the island do not agree to a 14-day quarantine, the Visitor Aloha Society will arrange for them to return home and pay for their airfare if they cannot afford it.
If tourists resist, they will be prosecuted and fined. This is the best measure Hawaii has taken to help international tourists and ensure the safety of islanders.
Since April 6, representatives of the Hawaii tourism industry have sent letters requesting agencies to stop promoting Hawaii tourism during this time to reduce the number of tourists coming to the island.
According to statistics from Johns Hopkins University, Hawaii has 596 cases of Covid-19 and 12 deaths.
