With a name meaning "Waterfall in a mill" in Italian, the surreal natural wonder of Cascate del Mulino lies within the grounds of an old mill, just a few kilometers from the village of Saturnia. Since the Roman Empire, people have come to Cascate del Mulino to treat various ailments thanks to the unique water of the area's underground springs, which are rich in sulfur and other minerals.
But today, Cascate del Mulino has become a popular destination for tourists and Instagrammers, bringing Italy's stunning Tuscany region to worldwide fame.

Also known as “Cascatelle di Saturnia,” this incredible Italian tourist destination truly looks like paradise. The cascading white pools, with their captivating turquoise waters flowing at a temperature of 37°C, create a stunning visual spectacle.oThe temperature is almost constant, evaporating on a chilly morning, looking like something out of a fairy tale or a dream. The water in Cascate del Mulino flows year-round, but you should visit it in late autumn or even winter to avoid the crowds. It's also one of the few free natural spas in Tuscany, making it a must-see stop on any trip to Italy.

Legend says that Cascate del Mulino was formed by lightning strikes that missed their target during a battle between Jupiter and Saturn. Looking at its beauty, it's easy to believe it's a work of nature.
Saturnia's spas have a long history. The Ethruscans were the first to build baths here and even had a temple to thank the gods for this gift. Later, the Romans occupied the area and built the first public bath in history, Aurinia, in the center of Saturnia.

The lakes in Cascate del Mulino aren't deep enough for swimming, but if you're just looking to lie in the warm, turquoise waters and admire the pristine Tuscany, then this is definitely a place to visit. Plus, it's completely free, whereas other areas often charge an entrance fee.
