Hue Festival 2020 postponed to 2021

Due to the complex developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, on the morning of July 31, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province decided to postpone the Hue Festival 2020 to 2021.

According to information from the Office of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, on the morning of July 31, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province decided to postpone the Hue Festival 2020 (scheduled to take place from August 26-31) to 2021.

The province has also instructed the Hue Festival Center to send letters of apology to sponsors, embassies of countries with participating art troupes, travel agencies, local people, and tourists. Previously, the organizing committee had changed the dates of the Hue Festival 2020 twice.

The Hue Festival 2020 was envisioned as a major cultural event aimed at showcasing the finest aspects of Vietnamese culture. Initially, the festival planned to feature art troupes from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Lao Cai, Dak Lak, and many other art groups. Additionally, international artists were also expected to participate.
