But the world's most dangerous island is scary in a different way.
Deep in the mangrove forests of Ramree Island (Myanmar) are the island's most ferocious "natives" - saltwater crocodiles, which can weigh up to 1 ton and grow up to 7 meters long, the largest of all crocodile species, according to National Geographic.

In 1945, the British army cornered a Japanese regiment in the jungles of Ramree Island. Only half of the 1,000 soldiers made it across the swamp, the rest fell prey to crocodiles.
The Ramree Swamp Massacre was recorded in the 1965 Guinness Book of Records as: "The highest number of casualties in a single crocodile attack".

Since then, the "swamp killers" have become a nightmare for all those who intend to set foot on this dangerous land and Ramree is also ranked as one of the most dangerous and terrifying islands in the world.
