Hue offers free admission and organizes many activities to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024, locals and tourists visiting Hue can participate in the pole-raising ceremony on February 2nd; and the Imperial Palace Tet celebration from February 3rd to 4th at the Hue Imperial Citadel.

In particular, during this period, the Hue Imperial Citadel Conservation Center will open its doors free of charge to welcome locals and tourists to visit historical sites for three days during Tet (Lunar New Year) and organize a number of attractive spring celebration activities.

The Hue Tet program, organized by the Hue City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department from February 1st to February 5th, promises to bring the atmosphere of Tet in the ancient capital of Hue to the people and tourists from all over.

In addition, locals and tourists can enjoy the Lantern Festival poetry night, the Hoang Mai festival, art performances in the lobby of the Provincial Cultural and Film Center, the Huyen Tran Temple festival; admire the Spring Flower Festival; and stroll along the pedestrian streets on both banks of the Perfume River.

Districts and towns in Thua Thien Hue will also have many activities to attract locals and tourists during the Spring Festival, such as the traditional wrestling festival of Thu Le village in Quang Dien district (January 6th); and the traditional wrestling festival of Sinh village (January 10th).

Thua Thien Hue province will organize three high-altitude fireworks displays to welcome the new year, funded through social contributions. This activity is part of the plan to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024.

Accordingly, 1,000 fireworks will be launched in Hue City, 500 in Quang Dien District, and 500 in Phu Vang District. Prior to this, Thua Thien Hue Province also organized a fireworks display to welcome the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit 2023. Preparations were carried out by the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Military Command.

In addition, the Hue Imperial Citadel Conservation Center will organize a low-altitude fireworks display above the Flagpole during the New Year's Eve cultural program at 10 PM on February 9th, funded through social contributions.

The People's Committee of Huong Thuy town will organize a low-altitude fireworks display at Thanh Toan Tile-Roofed Bridge as part of the New Year's art program celebrating the Year of the Dragon from 0:00 to 0:10 on February 10th, using funds from social contributions.
