According to a VNA reporter in Jakarta, in a regular press conference on October 11, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of Indonesia, said that the list of 18 countries allowed to enter Indonesia will be announced in a circular of the Minister of Interior in the coming time.
Previously, Indonesia allowed entry for tourists from 5 countries:South Korea, China, Japan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and New Zealandas of October 14. The Indonesian government also revealed that Singapore may not be included in the 18 countries mentioned above because it has not met the requirements and standards of the World Health Organization (WHO) for level 1 or level 2 epidemic areas.

Indonesia is gradually easing border restrictions, opening the tourist destination of Bali to tourists this week, according to the Bangkok Post. In addition, the Indonesian islands of Batam and Bintan will also reopen to visitors.
On October 8, Sandiaga Uno, Indonesia's Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, announced that the quarantine period for international flight passengers and foreign tourists will be shortened to five days instead of the original eight days. This policy was implemented following the instructions of President Joko Widodo at a meeting on October 7.
Indonesia has also eased domestic travel restrictions, reopening cinemas and gyms as the number of Covid-19 cases and deaths in the country continues to fall to their lowest levels since June 2020. The new rules will apply to visitors who are fully vaccinated, have Covid-19 insurance and come from countries with a Covid-19 infection rate of less than 5%.
