According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Jakarta, in a regular press conference on October 11, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, stated that the list of 18 countries whose citizens are allowed to enter Indonesia will be announced in a circular from the Minister of Home Affairs in the near future.
Previously, Indonesia had allowed entry for travelers from five countries:South Korea, China, Japan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and New ZealandSince October 14th, the Indonesian government has also revealed that Singapore may not be included among the 18 countries mentioned above because it has not yet met the World Health Organization (WHO) requirements and standards for a level 1 or level 2 outbreak area.

According to the Bangkok Post, Indonesia is gradually easing border restrictions, reopening its borders to tourists at the popular island of Bali this week. In addition, the Indonesian islands of Batam and Bintan will also reopen to visitors.
On October 8th, Sandiaga Uno, Indonesia's Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, announced that the quarantine period for passengers on international flights and foreign tourists would be shortened to 5 days instead of the original 8 days. This policy was implemented following a directive from President Joko Widodo at a meeting on October 7th.
Indonesia has also eased domestic travel restrictions, reopening cinemas and gyms as the number of Covid-19 cases and deaths in the country continues to fall to its lowest levels since June 2020. New regulations will apply to travelers who are fully vaccinated, have Covid-19 insurance, and come from countries with Covid-19 infection rates below 5%.
