Recently, information about a hotel located inside a cave, reportedly in Ninh Binh, has garnered significant attention on several travel groups. Images and information about this hotel are being advertised on the world-renowned online booking application Agoda.
According to information posted on Agoda, this is a bungalow-style accommodation in Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province. The room has an area of 25 square meters.2It has a large bed and a private bathroom. What's special is that this room is located in a cliff. The bathroom and toilet are solidly constructed, with a ventilation opening in a natural rock crevice.

Not only is the location noteworthy, but many tourists are also astonished by the listed price of up to 97 million VND per night, currently discounted to 64 million VND. If you try booking through the Agoda platform, the total tax and fees payable for one night would be over 74 million VND. Included benefits are free Wi-Fi, parking, breakfast, coffee, and tea.
Images of the resort and its price have sparked controversy on social media. Many people consider it an "exorbitant price" given the "primitive appearance and mismatched interior design." Some also express concern that constructing this type of accommodation could impact the natural environment, especially if these are natural caves in Ninh Binh.
After receiving the information, on the morning of July 21st, the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism coordinated with an inter-agency inspection team to inspect the facility. The accommodation is located in Ninh Xuan commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province. However, at the inspection, the legal representative of the facility was absent, and the security guard stated that the resort was currently closed and not accepting guests.

Mr. Bui Van Manh, Director of the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, said: According to initial investigations, this establishment previously operated as a homestay but has been inactive for several months. "They took advantage of a cave within the premises, behind the house, and set up beds and a toilet to take photos and attract attention. They charged exorbitant prices, so they didn't get any bookings," Mr. Manh said. He also added that the establishment has not negatively impacted the cave itself.
The Ninh Binh Department of Tourism has now requested the removal of the advertising information to prevent tourists from having a misconception about the accommodation located inside a natural cave.
Currently, this room is still available on Agoda's online booking system, but it is no longer possible to book it, unlike the day before.
