According to information from Van Don International Airport (Quang Ninh), from November 1st, Vietnam Airlines will officially open the Van Don - Da Nang route with a frequency of 3 round-trip flights per week.
Specifically, Vietnam Airlines flights depart from Da Nang at 2:35 PM and from Van Don at 4:35 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The aircraft used for this route is the Airbus A321, with 184 seats, including 16 business class seats. This is the first route from Da Nang to Van Don and also the second domestic route at Van Don International Airport (after the Ho Chi Minh City - Van Don route), contributing to connecting tourism and trade between Quang Ninh province and the Central region.
The Vân Đồn airport reception hall features a sailboat symbol, closely associated with the Quảng Ninh region.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Sau, Director of Van Don International Airport, said that the official opening of the new Van Don - Da Nang route will contribute to stimulating trade and tourism between two major tourism centers of Vietnam, Quang Ninh and Da Nang. These are two markets with high tourism growth rates in the country, with a large demand for air travel services.
"We will continue to explore opening new routes from Hainan, Nanning, and Guangzhou (China), Japan, and Bangkok (Thailand) to Van Don. In addition, the network of domestic flights to and from Van Don will continue to expand to Phu Quoc," Mr. Sau said.
Van Don Airport has a terminal capacity of 2.5 million passengers per year in its first phase.
As a Category 4E airport according to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, Van Don International Airport can accommodate all types of modern aircraft in the world. The airport has a terminal capacity of 2.5 million passengers per year in its first phase, with plans to expand to 5 million passengers by 2030.
The efficient operation of Van Don Airport is expected to contribute to Quang Ninh's goal of welcoming 15-16 million tourists, including 7 million international tourists, by 2020, and 30 million tourists, including 15 million international tourists, by 2030. This will help make tourism a key economic sector, transforming Quang Ninh into an international tourism hub, in accordance with the overall tourism development plan for Quang Ninh until 2020, with a vision to 2030.
