According to news from Van Don International Airport (Quang Ninh), from November 1, Vietnam Airlines will officially open the Van Don - Da Nang route with a frequency of 3 round trips per week.
Specifically, Vietnam Airlines flights depart from Da Nang at 2:35 p.m. and from Van Don at 4:35 p.m. every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The aircraft used for this route is the Airbus A321, with 184 seats, including 16 business class seats. This is the first route from Da Nang to Van Don and also the second domestic route at Van Don International Airport (after Ho Chi Minh City - Van Don), contributing to connecting tourism and trade of Quang Ninh province with the Central region.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Sau, Director of Van Don International Airport, said that the official opening of the new Van Don - Da Nang route will contribute to stimulating trade and tourism between the two major tourist centers of Vietnam, Quang Ninh and Da Nang. These are two markets with high tourism growth rates in the country, with a large demand for aviation services.
"We will continue to study and welcome new routes from Hainan, Nanning and Guangzhou (China), Japan, Bangkok (Thailand) to Van Don. In addition, the network of domestic flights to and from Van Don will continue to expand to Phu Quoc," said Mr. Sau.
Van Don Airport's first phase terminal capacity reaches 2.5 million passengers per year.
As a 4E-class airport according to the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Van Don International Airport can accommodate all modern aircraft in the world. The airport has a terminal capacity of 2.5 million passengers per year in phase one, expected to expand to 5 million passengers by 2030.
The operational efficiency of Van Don airport is expected to contribute to helping Quang Ninh achieve the target of welcoming 15-16 million visitors, including 7 million international visitors by 2020, 30 million visitors with 15 million international visitors by 2030. This contributes to making tourism a key economic sector, making Quang Ninh an international tourism center, according to the master plan for tourism development in Quang Ninh until 2020, with a vision to 2030.
