Thất Sơn, also known as Seven Mountains, has long been associated with the legend of seven sacred mountains. Thất Sơn doesn't just consist of seven mountains; the region has been known since ancient times by seven symbolic mountains, considered the spiritual heartland of the entire area. This story is recorded in the Đại Nam Nhất Thống Chí (Great History of Vietnam) from the Nguyễn Dynasty and in Lê Văn Đức's Việt Nam Tự Điển (Vietnamese Dictionary) in 1972. The seven mountains mentioned symbolize the supernatural, mystical, and unique feng shui of the place: Mount Tượng, Mount Tô, Mount Cấm, Mount Ốc Nhẫm, Nam Vi, Tà Biệt, Nhơn Hòa…
Ta Pa Pagoda - A famous destination in Tri Ton
Beyond the mystique of the mountains and the breath of primitive life, this semi-mountainous region also witnesses the intermingling of various ethnic groups: Khmer, Chinese, and Kinh. Visiting Tri Ton today, tourists can still see this blend in the stilt houses hidden behind the canals, or the ancient tiled-roof houses along the village roads shaded by mango trees, the bustling Kinh markets, and the unique dishes that are indistinguishable as Khmer, Kinh, or Chinese. There, too, are stories that have become ingrained in the community's memory for generations.
This race, with distances of 5km, 10km, and 21km, is designed for athletes to traverse lush green palm fields, ancient Khmer temples, and misty mountain ranges. It's not just a physical challenge, but also an opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique cultural landscape and experience the serene beauty of this sacred land.

The Vietnam Rural Half Marathon 2025 | Tri Ton - Returning to the Land of Legends is not just a sporting event, but also aims to spread the message of sustainable development and community bonding.

Prior to the 2025 Vietnam Rural Half Marathon, Vietnam Rural had already organized three memorable seasons in the provinces of Long An and Nghe An.
