Luong Son Pass is located on the border between Vinh Hoa ward and Vinh Luong commune (Nha Trang city), with many sharp bends, including several ravines more than 10 meters deep. This is a place where tourists often stop to admire the scenery and take photos.
Taking beautiful photos despite the dangers involved.
Notably, many tourists come here hoping to take beautiful photos, even climbing onto rocky outcrops jutting into the sea to capture images. On the morning of October 7th, a female tourist slipped and fell into a deep ravine while taking pictures, sustaining serious injuries. Prior to that, in February 2021, a doctor fishing on a rocky outcrop on the mountainside of this pass unfortunately slipped and was swept away by the waves, resulting in his death.
Ms. Le Tuong Minh (38 years old, a resident of Nha Trang) said: "This road is very beautiful for admiring Nha Trang Bay. But many people often stand too close to the rocks and cliff edges to take pictures, which is very dangerous, especially in recent days when it rains and the rocks are very slippery or prone to landslides."
Mr. Nguyen Duc Phu (a tourist from Hanoi) said: "Many young people climb to dangerous high places on Luong Son Pass to take pictures for social media, showing a complete disregard for their own lives."

We need to put up more warning signs.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Tuan, chairman of the Vinh Luong commune People's Committee, said that this road is managed by the Department of Transport. Dangerous areas have been marked with retaining walls, barriers, and warning signs indicating dangerous ravines.
"The local authorities and urban management department have also proposed placing concrete blocks in deep ravines to ensure the safety of residents and tourists. Patrol teams are tasked with reminding people when they see them approaching dangerous areas," Mr. Tuan said.
However, according to many locals and tourists, authorities need to place more serious warning signs at dangerous spots to prevent tourists, especially young tourists visiting for the first time, from leaving the safe zone.

Avoid blindly following "check-in trends" at dangerous locations.
Mr. Truong Hoang Nguyen, an experiential tourism guide in Nha Trang, shared: "You shouldn't blindly follow 'check-in trends' at dangerous photo spots or videos that challenge you to explore..."
Avoid standing on the edge of cliffs, areas with weak geological conditions, or barren hillsides with jagged rocks where rockfalls are common. Also, high, protruding rock formations, especially on mountain passes, are very dangerous. Photographers must be cautious and carefully observe and choose safe shooting locations.
