According to an announcement on the website of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam on October 2, the type of visa issued electronically is for short-term stay, single entry for tourism purposes within 15 days and is only issued to Vietnamese passport holders living in Vietnam.
The type of visa issued electronically is a short-term, single-entry visa for tourism purposes within 15 days.
The issuance of e-visas has begun to be implemented gradually among the travel companies designated to organize package tours. Initially, the new policy does not apply to independent travelers but is applied to authorized companies, and later to designated companies.
Ms. Chung Thuy Chau, Sales Director of Viet Tourism Media JSC, said: “The new policy makes it easier to apply for group visas and will certainly attract more tourists, especially at the end of the year. This is also a positive signal for the cooperation to attract two-way tourists between Vietnamese and Japanese travel agencies.”
It is known that in the first 8 months of the year, Vietnam was one of the 7 largest markets sending tourists to Japan. In the opposite direction, Japan is also one of the markets sending the most tourists to Vietnam, with more than 414,000 arrivals in the first 8 months of the year, behind Korea, mainland China and Taiwan.
