The cherry blossoms in Da Lat are quite special because their trunks resemble those of peach and plum trees, while their flowers have five petals like apricot blossoms. It is because they possess characteristics of both these beautiful flowers that the name "cherry blossom" (mai anh đào) came about.
The BEST time
Visiting Da Lat in January, tourists can admire the scattered cherry blossoms in several places such as the road to Hoan My Hospital, Sunshine Cafe, Truong Cong Dinh slope, the road to Tuyen Lam Lake, etc.
Cherry blossoms bloom from around mid-January to mid-February, so you can time it accordingly and choose beautiful roads to capture some amazing photos for your social media. Generally speaking, however, during the season, most roads in Da Lat will have plenty of these flowers.

CHERRY BLOSSOM VIEWING ROUTES IN DA LAT
- Tran Hung Dao Street: This street, stretching over 500 meters, is known as the cherry blossom street of Da Lat. Rows of cherry blossoms blend their colors with the majestic old pine trees, set against the backdrop of ancient villas, creating a truly charming street.
- Around Xuan Huong Lake: Almost every tourist in Da Lat knows this place because Xuan Huong Lake is located right in the city center. The area with the most cherry blossoms is near Thuy Ta restaurant and near Bich Cau restaurant and cafe. Currently, many more cherry blossom trees are being planted along the lakeside road. It is predicted that in just a few years, these flowers will bloom profusely across the entire lake area.
- Tuyen Lam Lake: The cherry blossom forest next to Tuyen Lam Lake is a bit difficult to find, so visitors need to pay close attention to avoid getting lost. On the way past the sculpture tunnel and the iron bridge, slow down and look around. Looking down towards the lake, you will see a large cluster of cherry blossoms. Tuyen Lam Lake is also the chosen location for the cherry blossom festival. The romantic scenery of the water adorned with cherry blossom trees promises many surprises for visitors.
- Da Quy Slope: This is a popular spot for many tourists because it includes Trai Mat, with rows of cherry blossoms blooming like something out of a fairy tale. This stretch of road is highly sought after and becomes very crowded during the cherry blossom season. From afar, Da Quy Slope looks like a long pink silk ribbon fluttering in the wind, gentle and dreamy. As you get closer, seeing the clusters of blossoms and inhaling their delicate fragrance, you realize you're not dreaming. Under the cherry blossoms, everything looks incredibly perfect.
