The Pink Trumpet Flower Week, a meaningful cultural and tourism event, is organized through the harmonious and close coordination between the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang province and the People's Committee of Chau Thanh district. This event is not simply a festival, but also the result of the joint efforts and unity of all levels of government in promoting the natural beauty and tourism potential of the locality.
The pink trumpet flower, originating from the Americas, is also known as the pink bellflower due to its bell-like shape and the fact that it grows in clusters of 4 to 7 flowers. The flowers have a color similar to cherry blossoms and typically bloom from February to June.
The road lined with pink trumpet flowers, stretching over 1km, is located on Hung Vuong Street, connecting National Highway 1 to the administrative area of Chau Thanh District, Soc Trang Province.
According to the approved plan, the Trumpet Flower Week will officially open and last for five glorious days in March, a carefully chosen period to honor the majestic beauty of this characteristic flower. Local authorities must monitor and select the appropriate time to organize the Trumpet Flower Festival. This major event will be held in Tra Quyt A hamlet, Chau Thanh town, a location meticulously chosen because it possesses an invaluable natural treasure: a 1km stretch of Hung Vuong road adorned with hundreds of blooming trumpet trees.
The stretch of Hung Vuong Street, adorned with the vibrant pink of trumpet flowers, will become the main stage for the Trumpet Flower Week. Here, visitors will be immersed in a dreamy atmosphere where the colors and fragrances of the flowers blend together, creating an unforgettable experience.
During the season when the trumpet flowers bloom, young people often come to Hung Vuong Street, Tra Quyt A Hamlet, Chau Thanh Town, Soc Trang Province to take souvenir photos.
The Pink Trumpet Flower Week is not only a cultural event but also a strategy to promote the tourism image of Soc Trang province. The main goal of the event is to introduce the beauty of the pink trumpet flower, a symbol of this land, to tourists from within and outside the province. Through this, Soc Trang province hopes to attract attention and investment in the tourism industry, a sector with great potential for the locality.
Within the framework of the Pink Trumpet Flower Week, a series of diverse and enriching activities will be organized to provide visitors with memorable experiences. These activities include exhibitions of publications and tourism items, giving visitors the opportunity to discover unique products that bear the distinctive cultural imprint of Soc Trang.
The Pink Trumpet Flower Week will take place in Chau Thanh town, Chau Thanh district, Soc Trang province in March 2025.
Moreover, vivid images and videos will recreate the beauty of the trumpet flower, as well as introduce the province's attractive tourist destinations. This is also an opportunity to showcase the local agricultural and handicraft products, produced according to OCOP (One Commune One Product) standards. Tourists will receive advice and choose tours that suit their interests and needs, to explore the cultural and natural beauty of Soc Trang.
A highlight of the event is the Khmer cultural experience program, featuring performances of the traditional Rong Vong dance and a demonstration of making flattened rice flakes. In addition, a Vietnamese goods fair for rural areas will be held with approximately 40 stalls, along with 20 food stalls serving typical local folk dishes. Furthermore, the event will include many cultural and artistic activities and folk games such as stick pushing, tug-of-war, sack racing, and basketball throwing, creating a fun and interactive space for locals and tourists.

This is the first time the province has organized an event related to the trumpet flower to promote the image of this flower, which is linked to the district's tourism strengths, aiming to attract tourists and investment in tourism. Since 2019, a one-kilometer-long road in the administrative center of Chau Thanh district has been adorned with vibrant trumpet flowers since February, attracting many tourists from the region to admire and take photos. With meticulous preparation, the first trumpet flower festival promises to be a spectacular event, contributing to elevating Soc Trang's tourism.
The 2025 Pink Trumpet Flower Week is a practical activity aimed at promoting the "National Unity in Building a Culturally Rich Life" movement, while preserving and honoring the traditional cultural identity of ethnic groups in Chau Thanh district. The event also plays an important role in promoting local tourism, attracting investment, and contributing to making tourism a key economic sector.
