A bowl of hot chocolate sauce simmered over a candle flame, surrounded by dipping ingredients including waffles, fruit, and colorful scoops of ice cream, creates a sweet "chocolate fondue" for Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day, February 14th, is a special occasion to express love between couples. On this day, people usually give each other roses and chocolate – beautiful symbols of love. However, instead of simple chocolates, many people invite their significant other to eat "chocolate fondue" as a sweet and warm declaration of love.

"Chocolate fondue" is a wonderful creation derived from Cheese Fondue – a traditional dish of the villagers located in the Alps, near the Swiss-French border. Cheese Fondue, meaning melted cheese, is a traditional dish in Switzerland dating back to ancient times.

During national holidays, people in this country often sit around a pot of cheese sauce, mixed with wine, garlic, pepper, etc., simmering over low heat, using forks or skewers to dip dried foods such as bread, donuts, and winter vegetables into it and enjoy.

Later, Cheese Fondue became popular throughout Europe and was adapted to suit the tastes of each country. "Chocolate Fondue" is an impromptu variation created by Asian artisans who replaced the traditional cheese flavor with chocolate.

"Chocolate fondue" consists of a small pot of hot chocolate sauce surrounded by various biscuits, whipped cream, and fruit. The chocolate sauce is made from chocolate, fresh milk, butter, and sea urchin liqueur. There are many types of chocolate sauce to choose from depending on your taste, such as: chocolate-flavored sauce, salted butter sauce, grape butter sauce, or buttermilk sauce… Your sweet treat will look very appealing with the diverse colors of the biscuits and fruit, along with the rich, creamy flavor of the chocolate.

When enjoying hot pot, people skewer various foods and dip them into the steaming hot pot sauce. To keep the chocolate sauce hot for longer, many places place the pot of sauce on top of a candle to simmer it, which is quite interesting. To fully appreciate the appeal of this chocolate hot pot, the fruits are usually kept very cold so that when dipped briefly, the chocolate quickly coats them, creating a crispy shell.
