With many unique activities revolving around 5 main themes "Watching Tet; Playing Tet; Traveling Tet; Eating Tet and Tet Market", the Vietnamese Tet Giap Thin Festival held at Le Van Tam Park (District 1) received the response of people and tourists. After 4 days of organization, the event recorded nearly 90,000 domestic and foreign visitors coming to visit, experience and shop.
Many fun activities are held during the Vietnamese Tet Festival.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, representative of the Festival organizer, spoke at the closing ceremony: "With a series of diverse and attractive cultural and entertainment activities and the participation of more than 150 tourism, trade and culinary booths, the Festival attracted more than 90,000 visitors, experienced and shopped in 04 days of organization, with estimated revenue of nearly 50 billion VND".
Ms. Hoa said that the success of the festival has affirmed the potential of this being an annual cultural and tourism event of the city, contributing to preserving and promoting traditional customs, practices, and rituals, imbued with national cultural identity, and positioning the tourism brand of Ho Chi Minh City. Thereby, the Festival also contributes to demonstrating the consensus and cooperation of the government and businesses to create meaningful events to serve the people and tourists, contributing to promoting the economic and tourism development of the city.
At the festival space, visitors can admire the typical traditional houses of the three regions of North - Central - South, traditional Tet trays, 121 typical culinary dishes... in the Tet Viewing activity.
The program includes many experiences revolving around 5 groups of topics: Watching Tet, Eating Tet, Traveling Tet, Playing Tet and Tet Market. At the event, the space of Vietnamese houses and traditional Tet dishes of the 3 regions are fully recreated.
Local dishes such as sweet soup, rose cake, Nam O fish salad, duck wrapped in lotus leaves and rolled in clay... are also performed to serve tourists.
In addition, shopping promotion programs from more than 70 food stalls from 30 provinces and cities across the country also attracted a large number of visitors.
The Tet play area with many activities to experience folk games such as blindfolded pot smashing, tug of war, bamboo dancing, hopscotch... attracted many young people and families to participate. In addition, many Tet gifts were given by Masan Consumer Goods Joint Stock Company to 200 disadvantaged children living in the city.
Traditional trays of food and 121 typical dishes were prepared and presented by culinary artisan families at the Festival. The traditional Tet tray of food from the Central region impressed visitors with its attention-grabbing appearance.
Representative of the President of the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky shared: "To ensure the organization of the Vietnamese Tet Festival 2024 is interesting, attractive, effective and safe, the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association has actively coordinated with the co-organizer, the Department of Tourism, the supporting unit, the Department of Industry and Trade and other departments and branches in the city". The event took place enthusiastically, leaving many impressions, attracting the attention and support of people, tourists and many young people.
