On the evening of August 14th, the Asia Architecture Design Awards 2023 (AADA) ceremony took place at Marina Bay Sands – an iconic architectural landmark in Singapore, one of Asia's most modern cities. This prestigious event in the field of architecture in Asia aims to honor and recognize outstanding works by architects and impressive architectural projects across the region.

Mr. Do Quang Vinh, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Director of SHB Bank, at the AADA 2023 Awards Ceremony. The SHB - Best Workplace project won the Best Workplace Interior Design category.
The awards ceremony was attended by a large number of architects, designers, experts, consultants in the fields of architecture, interior design, real estate, etc., as well as representatives from the winning projects, constructions, and companies.
Opening the awards ceremony, Mr. Dylan Yip, Deputy General Director for Strategy at the Asia Award Organization, reviewed the memorable milestones of AADA. After more than eight months, AADA received a strong response with over 1,100 accounts registered on the official website, over 436 projects successfully submitted applications, and 100 projects reaching the final round. The judging panel worked diligently to select the 50 winners of the prestigious awards.
The AADA Awards 2023 ceremony took place on the evening of August 14th at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
According to Alberto Beretta, CEO of IFO SRL and Head of the AADA 2023 Jury, Asian architecture has always been known for its unique beauty, diversity, and sophisticated blend of tradition and modernity. Through the projects participating in AADA, we can see the strong rise of Asian architecture with creative ideas spanning many fields, from commercial to social and residential buildings. Architects have applied advanced technology to build architectural masterpieces that are still in harmony with the environment and contribute to the sustainable development of the region and the world.
Some notable projects include the Sikanderpur forest restoration project (JRA Design - India), Tops Redevelopment (ArchiGlobal Inc. - Philippines), MARSA HQ (PT. Marsa Andreo Desain - Indonesia), BMW Millennium Auto - Pattanakarn Srinakarin (V2 Design Studio - Thailand), Silhoutte (What Design Studio - Malaysia), Mai Chau Culture Resort (The Modern Touch - Vietnam), etc.
The Best Furniture Manufacturer award was presented to Grand Marina Saigon - The Lake Tower Hotel.
The awards ceremony was divided into four parts, interspersed with special presentations by guest speakers who are leading experts in the industry, on the topics: The Future of Interior Design; Design for Livable Cities; Connecting People Through Interior Design; Hotels, Architecture, and Culture. With an accessible, fresh, yet insightful perspective, these presentations provided unique viewpoints, in-depth information, and a five-year vision for the Asian architecture and design industry.
In addition, AADA facilitates interaction and experience sharing among architects and professionals in the field, creating opportunities for collaboration and technical exchange with architects and professionals from 12 countries in the region, thereby forming a strong Asian architectural community network.
Architect Tan Quee Peng, General Director of RSP Vietnam, shared his insights on the topic "Designing towards livable cities".
Notably, quite a few Vietnamese projects won awards at AADA 2023, such as The Grand Maria Saigon – The Lake Tower (IFO SRL), Xuan Thao residential area (Xuan Thao), CBRE Hanoi office building (Vacons), SHB – Best workplace (SHB), Ngo house (DOG house), Grand Tourane Nha Trang (Sunjin Vietnam), etc.
Commenting on the development potential of Vietnam's architecture industry, Mr. Dang The My, CEO & Founder of Vacons - a partner of the Asian Awards Organization, said: "With the appearance of many award-winning projects from Vietnam, this will certainly be a major step forward, and may even usher in a new era for the design and architecture industry in Vietnam."
The CBRE Hanoi office project was awarded the Best Workplace Interior Design prize.
Following the awards ceremony, AADA officially launched its new season with the theme “Emerging Asia”. Accordingly, AADA 2024 will feature 30 categories across six main fields: Architectural Design, Interior Design, Retail Interior Design, Architectural Design Companies, Interior Design Companies, and Furniture Manufacturing & Retail Companies.
Beyond celebrating the ingenuity and exceptional imagination displayed by visionary architects and designers across Asia, AADA 2024 aims to honor outstanding architectural projects that are reshaping urban landscapes and cultural identities in emerging Asian nations. Registration for AADA 2024 is open until January 2024. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand.
