Malaysia introduces impressive tourism products at Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair 2024

Continuing its continuous efforts to promote Malaysia as a popular tourist destination, Tourism Malaysia has participated in the International Travel Expo (ITE) Ho Chi Minh City, which took place from 05 to 07 September 2024.

ITE Ho Chi Minh City 2024 is a great opportunity to showcase Malaysia’s unique tourism products, connect with potential and returning visitors to Malaysia. Visitors are invited to explore the diverse tourism destinations, rich cultural heritage and a wide range of affordable holiday packages.

In addition, the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board also strengthens cooperation with travel agencies and tourism associations in Ho Chi Minh City to develop package tours suitable to the interests and needs of the Vietnamese market.

This year, the Malaysian pavilion is supported by the Malaysia Homestay Entrepreneurs Association, Kampungstay Holiday Sdn Bhd, Myhistourism Adventure Sdn Bhd and the Melaka State Government. During the three-day event, Malaysia will focus on showcasing its impressive tourism products, exciting destinations and global reputation as a safe, family-friendly travel destination.

Visitors will have the opportunity to admire the attractive traditional cultural performances performed by talented artists from Malaysia. The art troupe’s journey to Vietnam is supported by Vietjet Air. Vietjet Air is famous for its extensive flight network, with direct flights connecting Vietnam and Malaysia, helping to strengthen the close connection between the two countries.

Ms. Nor Hayati Zainuddin, Director of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board in Vietnam, said: “Vietnam is an important source market for Malaysia. Strong promotional initiatives are essential for Malaysia to attract more Vietnamese tourists, especially new direct routes such as Da Nang to Kuala Lumpur by Malaysia Airlines, and the upcoming Da Lat – Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City – Kota Kinabalu by AirAsia.

There are currently 142 direct flights from Vietnam to Malaysia every week and the Tourism Promotion Board of Malaysia expects significant growth from the ASEAN market, including Vietnam. Accordingly, the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign emphasizes this aspiration with the target of attracting 35.6 million international visitors and earning 147.1 billion Malaysian Ringgit in tourism revenue.
