In 2022, Mr. Tran Van Bi made a pivotal decision – to embark on a new path with a homestay project called "Grandma's." This journey stemmed from a cross-Vietnam trip filled with new experiences that helped him discover the immense tourism potential of his homeland.
The cross-Vietnam trip was a meaningful journey for Mr. Bi. Along each route, he admired the majestic beauty of the country, experienced the diverse cultures of different regions, and met hospitable people. Above all, he realized that his homeland – the fertile land of Ca Mau with its unique river and waterway ecosystem – also possesses enormous tourism potential.

"I'm a travel enthusiast and fortunate enough to have traveled to many places. After returning home from my 68-day cross-Vietnam trip, I had the idea of introducing my hometown to more people, especially foreign tourists," Bi shared.
Drawing from the experiences and emotions gathered during his trip, Mr. Bi embarked on the "Grandma's Homestay" project. The homestay is named "Grandma's" as a tribute and a tribute to traditional cultural values and strong family bonds. "When I named my homestay, I wanted a name that would feel familiar and comforting to everyone. And the name 'Grandma' came to mind. Because everyone has a grandmother, and their maternal hometown is a familiar place to everyone, so I named it Grandma's Homestay," Mr. Bi explained.

On a plot of land measuring 5,000 square meters.2Mr. Bi has nurtured the creation of Ba Ngoai Homestay, preserving the simple and rustic charm of the Mekong Delta. Unlike modern resorts, his homestay offers visitors an authentic experience of local life.
Instead of high walls or tiled roofs, the homestay is simply constructed with semi-permanent corrugated iron roofs, creating a feeling of closeness to nature. Each house is equipped with basic amenities such as mosquito nets, fans, and shared bathrooms, meeting the needs of guests. Although simple, it is extremely convenient and comfortable.

“The homestay is designed in the typical style of the local people, like a normal corrugated iron factory. Currently, Ba Ngoai Homestay only has dorm rooms with 3-5 beds. In the future, if possible, we hope to expand the number of rooms to accommodate more guests,” Mr. Bi said.
What particularly attracts foreign tourists to homestays is the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere of the countryside. There's no noise from traffic, no city smog, only the chirping of birds, the rustling of the wind through the leaves, and the gentle sound of flowing water.
