In 2022, a turning point decision was made by Mr. Tran Van Bi - turning to a new path with a homestay project called "Grandma". This journey originated from a cross-country trip filled with new experiences that helped him discover the great tourism potential of his homeland.
The trip across Vietnam was a meaningful journey for Mr. Bi. On each route, he admired the majestic beauty of the country, experienced the diverse cultures of the regions and met hospitable people. Above all, he realized that his homeland - the fertile land of Ca Mau with its unique river ecosystem - also possesses enormous tourism potential.

Experience the simple life of Ca Mau people
“I am a person who loves to travel and was lucky enough to travel to many places. After finishing a 68-day trip across Vietnam and returning home, I had the idea of introducing my homeland to more people, especially foreign tourists,” Mr. Bi confided.
From the experiences and emotions gathered during the trip, Mr. Bi started the project of Ba Ngoai Homestay. The homestay is named "Ba Ngoai" as a tribute, a respect for traditional cultural values and family affection. "When I named my homestay, I wanted a name that people would feel warm and familiar when they heard it. And the name Ba Ngoai lit up in my mind. Because everyone has a Grandmother and the maternal hometown is also a familiar place to everyone, I named it Ba Ngoai Homestay", Mr. Bi said.

On a 5,000 m2 plot of land2, Mr. Bi has built Ba Ngoai Homestay to preserve the simplicity and rusticity of the Mekong Delta. Unlike modern resorts, his homestay offers visitors a genuine experience of the local people's lives.
Instead of high walls or tiled roofs, the homestay is simply built with a semi-permanent corrugated iron roof, creating a feeling of closeness to nature. Each house is fully equipped with basic amenities such as mosquito nets, fans, and shared bathrooms, meeting the needs of visitors. Although simple, it is extremely convenient and comfortable.
Ba Ngoai Homestay retains the simplicity and rusticity of the river delta region.
“The homestay is designed in the common style of a normal local factory. Currently, Ba Ngoai Homestay only has dorm rooms with 3-5 beds. In the future, if possible, I also hope to expand the room size to accommodate more guests,” said Mr. Bi.
What especially attracts foreign tourists to homestay is the peace and tranquility of the countryside. There is no noise of vehicles, no dust of the city, only the chirping of birds, the rustling of wind through the leaves and the sound of flowing water.
