The Nghia Lam sunflower field, owned by TH Group, opened its doors to visitors free of charge on December 16th. This year, the sunflowers were planted in area C10, opposite the area between dairy farms No. 1 and No. 3.
This sunflower field has long been a favorite check-in spot for many tourists at the end of the year. But this year, thanks to meticulous care, the flowers are blooming profusely, evenly, and beautifully under the gentle sunshine, dry wind, and the scent of the meadow grass of Phu Quy. Films and photos of the sunflower field have attracted the attention and delight of many visitors. Despite the busy end-of-year schedule, many people have arranged their itineraries and made short trips to visit and enjoy the sunflower season in the Phu Quy field.

For about a week now, many tourists have been flocking to the blooming sunflower field of TH Group in Nghe An to take photos.
Walking amidst the vibrant yellow flowers
The sunflower hill is located at Farm 19/5, Nghia Lam commune, about 70 km from Vinh City and about 250 km from Hanoi. The road leading to the field gradually opens up, and the further you go, the wider the space becomes, the higher the sky, and the more distinctly the yellow color appears. Visitors can travel by private vehicle, searching on maps with keywords such as "Farm 1 TH Milk (Dairy Farm No. 1)" or "Nghe An Sunflower Hill". From Hanoi, if traveling by regular bus, the journey takes about 6 hours; with high-speed limousine services, the distance is shortened to about 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Becoming a popular destination, getting to the flower fields is quite easy using various modes of transportation.
According to Tuyen Parafu, a travel blogger who has visited Nghia Lam many times, this trip can be easily arranged in one day. There are many departure times for buses and limousines from Hanoi and Vinh City, allowing tourists to be flexible with their time, especially suitable for short trips just to admire the flowers and take photos.
“Only when I went deeper inside did I fully appreciate the vastness of the field,” Tuyen recounted, recalling the moment he set foot on the sunflower hill. “The low, dense rows of flowers, one after another, created a unique rhythm. The scene was so beautiful that at times I felt like I was walking through a golden dream. But the further I went, the more clearly I felt the ground rustling under my feet, the wind swaying the stems, and the dazzling golden sunlight shining down on me.”

Mr. Tuyen ran amidst the rows of sunflowers spread across the field.
Tips for taking photos in the middle of a flower field.
The ideal time to explore the flower fields is in the morning, around 7-9 am, when the sunlight is soft, the atmosphere is quiet, and there aren't too many visitors. From 3-5 pm, the slanted sunlight adds depth to the scene, the yellow hues become more intense, but this is also when the fields are busiest. For those who want to capture the entire sea of flowers, a drone offers an impressive perspective. Otherwise, hiring a photographer on-site will help preserve those moments more perfectly.
Amidst the vibrant yellow sea, clothing plays a crucial role. Colors like red, white, or blue stand out clearly, while yellow blends easily into the blossoms. Neat, easy-to-move clothing is more suitable for navigating through the flowerbeds. And above all, maintaining a sense of community—not picking flowers, not littering—is the way to preserve this beauty for future seasons.

Sunflowers don't have a long blooming cycle, but this year TH Group planted over 100 hectares, divided into three overlapping periods. Thanks to this, there will be 2-3 more flowering periods between now and the Lunar New Year. According to Mr. Tuyen, the later flowering periods are expected to be even more romantic, as the planting location near the lake allows the water's surface to reflect the golden hues, creating a soft and poetic atmosphere.
There aren't many shops or restaurants around the farm, so visitors should bring their own snacks. At the farm gate, there's a TH stall selling drinks and ice cream to meet basic needs. Regardless of your mode of transportation, adhering to traffic safety regulations and maintaining general hygiene are essential for a fulfilling trip.

The story behind the fields
More than just a flower-filled destination, the Nghia Lam sunflower fields are also linked to a long-standing story of sustainable agriculture. These sunflower fields in western Nghe An have long been a distinctive feature of the region, and also mark the beginning of TH true Milk's journey "from green pastures to a glass of clean milk."
TH has been growing sunflowers in Nghia Lam for over 10 years, initially as feed for dairy cows. According to the farm's agricultural engineers, this year's sunflower field was prepared from the beginning of October. The sunflower variety has a short growing season, flowering after 60-70 days. Thanks to the soil and climate conditions of Phu Quy, mature plants reach a height of 1.5 to 2 meters, with large flowers that can reach a diameter of 30-40 cm. After about 90-100 days, the flowers bear seeds and are ready for harvest, yielding 40-45 tons/ha.

After a period of rest and careful cultivation, this year's sunflowers are blooming large, dense, and beautiful, promising a good yield.
From a purely agricultural field, this place has gradually transformed into an open experiential space for the community. Check-in points, service booths, free parking, and a support team help visitors immerse themselves in nature while learning more about a closed-loop, sustainable production model.
The sunflower fields of Nghia Lam are beautiful not only because of their vibrant yellow color, but also because of the story behind them. The flowers will eventually fade, but the memories of walking amidst the vast sea of flowers, of standing in the open space and the gentle sunlight of the year-end, will linger for a long time, soft and peaceful like a tranquil slice of western Nghe An province.
