The situation regarding scams involving the sale of airline tickets, especially those for the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday in 2025, is becoming increasingly complex.

Specifically, they registered domain names that closely resembled the airline's official agents, such as vietnamairslines.com, vietnamairlines.com, vietnamairlinesvn.com, and vemaybayvietnam.com. With interfaces designed to be exact copies, even using the logo and images of Vietnam Airlines, these websites deceived many passengers, leading to unfortunate consequences.

Eager to get cheap airline tickets, many customers didn't suspect anything when they received booking codes and urgent payment notifications. They were caught up in the excitement and fear of losing their tickets if they delayed. Recently, Vietnam Airlines has submitted a request to the authorities to handle websites showing signs of violating regulations regarding: the use of Vietnam Airlines' logo, trademarks, and images; copyright of website interface design; and information disclosure; as well as the registration and use of domain names that are identical to or confusingly similar to Vietnam Airlines' trademarks and trade names.

To avoid buying counterfeit or overpriced tickets during the upcoming peak Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday in 2025, Vietnam Airlines recommends that customers purchase tickets on the airline's website, mobile app, ticket offices, and official agents.

The Information Security Department advises that when needing to buy airline tickets, people should book directly through the airline's official website or call the hotline if they are not familiar with online booking.

Before making any transactions, passengers should carefully research and verify the ticket code information and check its validity, and request airline staff to double-check flight itinerary and passenger information. In particular, avoid transactions through third-party intermediaries or agents whose quality and reliability are unclear.
