Statistics show that in the first eight months of 2024, Ba Ria - Vung Tau experienced growth of approximately 17% in both the total number of visitors and accommodation revenue. However, observations at accommodation establishments now indicate a sharp decline in visitor numbers.
The Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is coordinating with Ho Chi Minh City to develop nine more inter-provincial tours to stimulate tourism.
Accordingly, 33 accommodation and travel establishments in Vung Tau City and the districts of Xuyen Moc, Long Dien, Dat Do, and Con Dao are offering discounts and promotions ranging from 20-65% on services, food and beverage services, and room rates from now until December 31, 2024. In addition, some establishments are offering free room upgrades on weekdays and free shuttle services between Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau. Many businesses are also offering significant discounts on services such as food and beverage, entertainment, hall and stage rentals, etc., until the end of the first quarter of 2025.
To maintain operations, stabilize infrastructure, and pay employee salaries, tourism businesses need a source of revenue. Therefore, many businesses are adopting measures to stimulate demand and boost spending on tourism in order to generate revenue and profits.
At the Emerald Ho Tram Resort project, the developer has taken advantage of the ideal long beach to organize team-building activities. Along with 5-star standard facilities and reasonable costs during the off-season (only about 1.2 million VND/person/day including accommodation and breakfast buffet...), the resort has attracted many groups of guests for relaxation combined with beach activities; or for organizing corporate meetings and events.
Furthermore, after conducting surveys and working with relevant units, the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has announced 230 tourist areas and destinations in the province. In addition, it has announced 54 intra-provincial tours and routes, as well as tourism stimulus programs for Ba Ria - Vung Tau in the fourth quarter of 2024. According to the Department of Tourism, among the 54 tours and routes, 12 are currently catering to cruise ship tourists. These tours are expected to be attractive enough to draw international tourists, aligning with the province's development strategy.
