Amidst the bustling atmosphere leading up to the 5-day holiday from April 30th to May 4th, Da Nang's tourism industry is witnessing extremely positive signs. According to the latest information from the city's Department of Tourism, occupancy rates at resorts and 5-star hotels in the area have reached impressively high levels, with some establishments even exceeding 80%. This demonstrates Da Nang's strong appeal as a top destination during this major holiday.
With people enjoying a full five days off, equivalent to the 2024 holiday period, the demand for travel and exploration in Da Nang is becoming even stronger. Overall, it is estimated that the occupancy rate of 4- to 5-star tourist accommodations and similar establishments is expected to reach approximately 75-80%, a promising figure for the recovery and growth of the city's tourism industry.
The number of tourists expected to visit Da Nang during the April 30th and May 1st holiday this year is higher than the same period last year.
The vibrancy of Da Nang during this holiday is also clearly demonstrated by the bustling activity at Da Nang International Airport. It is projected that during the 5-day holiday, the airport will receive a total of 692 flights, a significant increase of 16% compared to the same period last year. On average, Da Nang will receive approximately 138 flights per day, including 57 international and 81 domestic flights, showing the interest of both domestic and international tourists in this beautiful coastal city. Besides air travel, sea travel is also showing positive signs, with Da Nang Port expected to welcome the large cruise ship AIDASTELLA to Tien Sa port, bringing approximately 2,000 international tourists – a number 2.5 times higher than the number of cruise ship passengers during the holiday last year. The number of tourists arriving in Da Nang by train is also forecast to increase by about 10% compared to the same period in 2024, estimated at over 13,200 passengers.
Many exciting activities are being organized to attract tourists to Da Nang during this holiday season.
To enhance the appeal and enrich the visitor experience, the Da Nang City Department of Tourism will officially launch the 2025 beach tourism season from April 26th to May 2nd with the theme "Dance of the Blue Waves". This series of special events includes 18 diverse activities, held at the East Sea Park, Son Tra Peninsula, and other famous tourist beaches of Da Nang. The highlight of this year's beach tourism season is the Da Nang International Sea Rescue Competition 2025, promising professional and impressive skill demonstrations. In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to admire colorful artistic kite performances, participate in the exciting "Da Nang Summer Wave Challenge 2025", enjoy romantic sailing demonstrations, and explore the unique Son Tra Green tour – from forest to sea.
Besides outdoor activities, cultural and entertainment venues throughout the city are also actively participating in the festivities. The Da Nang Museum will host a special 3D Mapping film screening to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification on the evenings of April 29th, 30th, and May 1st. The Da Nang Fine Arts Museum will present an art exhibition titled "Da Nang, a Land of Splendor," honoring the beauty of Da Nang's culture and people through the lens of art.
On average, there are 138 flights per day to Da Nang, including 57 international and 81 domestic flights. Da Nang Port is expected to welcome one cruise ship to Tien Sa port, bringing 2,000 international tourists to visit Da Nang.
Specifically, on April 30th, the Da Nang City Tourism Promotion Center, in coordination with the Vietnam Railways Corporation, will organize a solemn welcoming ceremony for the special North-South train named "The Reunification Train" in the train waiting area. Visitors will enjoy traditional art performances, folk music, witness the release of peace doves, and listen to the lively sounds of celebratory drums. At the same time, special guests on the Reunification Train will receive bouquets of fresh flowers and meaningful gifts from the city. At tourist areas, attractions, and accommodations throughout the city, many attractive culinary programs and special offers will also be implemented to best serve visitors.
To ensure a safe and civilized holiday for tourists, the Da Nang City Department of Tourism has specifically requested tourism service businesses and the People's Committees of districts and communes to strengthen security and order, maintain environmental hygiene, resolutely combat harassment and soliciting of tourists, and ensure absolute safety for visitors. Many accommodation owners said their room occupancy was almost at maximum, with the majority of guests coming from major cities and the Central region. Besides large hotels and resorts, community tourism destinations in Hoa Vang district such as Lang La, An Phu Farm, Bana Rita Farm... also reported being fully booked throughout the holiday, showing the increasing interest of tourists in experiential tourism that is close to nature and local culture.
The city's transportation sector has also made thorough preparations to meet the increased travel demand during the holiday season. Da Nang International Airport is expected to receive a total of 692 flights over the 5-day holiday, with 285 international and 407 domestic flights, representing increases of 10% and 21% respectively compared to the same period last year. In the waterway sector, the city is ready to welcome the AIDASTELLA cruise ship, with an expected 2.5 times more international passengers than during last year's holiday. The number of train passengers arriving in Da Nang is also projected to reach over 13,200, an increase of approximately 10%.

Other tourist attractions such as the Ao Dai show, Charming show, and Tien Sa show… also focus on unique culinary programs and traditional art performances to serve tourists, promising memorable experiences during this holiday.
