Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many festivals held across the country will have to be postponed or canceled.

Currently, festivals that are being postponed include the Ao Dai Festival, the Sa Pa Rose and Wine Festival, the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, and the cancellation of the Autumn Festival (Bat Xat).

Specifically, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism is seeking opinions from experts and relevant departments to change the plan for organizing the 7th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival in 2020 to an online format. If everything is prepared in time, the festival will take place in October. Previously, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Department of Tourism had requested to postpone the festival twice, to April and July.

The Autumn Festival "Y Tý Great Forest" and the Cultural and Sports Festival of Ethnic Groups in Bát Xát District, Lào Cai Province, scheduled to be held from August 15-16 in Y Tý commune with many attractive activities showcasing the unique cultural identity of various ethnic groups, will have to be canceled to ensure disease prevention and control measures are in place.

According to the plan, the Sa Pa Rose and Wine Festival 2020 was scheduled to be held from August 21-23 in Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province. The program is currently being considered for a postponement to October 2020, with activities such as a themed rose exhibition called "The Path of Love," a Sa Pa flower garden, a flower market, and a flower street. However, a final decision on whether or not to hold the festival will depend on the evolving pandemic situation. Even if the pandemic situation becomes unpredictable, the Winter Festival scheduled for November may also have to be postponed.
