The Hue City Green Park Center, based on the effectiveness of its existing waiting stations and water supply systems, advises the city of Hue to proactively invest in and expand their operation throughout the area. The project aims to provide tourists and residents of Hue with convenient amenities when visiting tourist attractions such as Thien Mu Pagoda, Bao Vinh Ancient Town, Ban Nguyet Bridge - Ben Me, Vong Canh Hill, and Lang Sinh Wrestling Arena.
The water systems at the water supply stations in tourist destinations meet the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and are certified to comply with TCVN 11978:2017 standards, ensuring safety and hygiene quality. The system features a 5-stage filtration system, including a 300G RO filter capable of removing over 99% of bacteria, amoebas, arsenic, heavy metals, viruses, and other impurities, resulting in pure water.
Numerous free water dispensers have been deployed throughout the ancient capital's popular tourist destinations.
These free water dispensing points were put into operation to build habits among residents and tourists in reducing the use of single-use plastic bottles, always carrying personal water bottles, contributing to resource conservation, sustainable tourism development, and reducing plastic generation and pollution in Hue City.
Currently, Hue City is implementing various solutions to reduce plastic waste in tourism activities within the city, thereby raising the responsibility of each citizen and tourist in protecting the environment, aiming towards a plastic-free city in the future.
Protecting the environment is the central focus of this campaign.
The implementation process has received a positive response from numerous tourists, yielding positive results in building the image of Hue tourism, especially in reducing plastic use in the tourism sector.
Along with the deployment of waiting stations and water supply at historical sites and tourist attractions since 2023, and now at tourist spots and community spaces throughout Hue City, it is hoped that this will spread a green and civilized lifestyle to local people, working together with the local government to build a green, clean, and bright Hue city.
In addition, Hue strives to minimize plastic waste as much as possible.
At bus stops and water stations, the project "Hue - A Plastic-Reducing City in Central Vietnam," implemented by the Hue City People's Committee and the Hue Imperial Citadel Conservation Center, also incorporates informational campaigns about implementing the Code of Conduct for Plastic Reduction for residents and tourists.
On this occasion, the project also donated replacements for single-use plastic items to the tofu selling cooperative in the Thien Mu Pagoda area to serve tourists in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
The project hopes that the free waiting stations and water dispensers will motivate Hue residents to gradually develop habits of reducing single-use plastic, improving the experience of tourists visiting tourist attractions. Together, they will develop a sustainable green living community to preserve the green city of Hue.
