Organized by MetaScent in collaboration with Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi - the famous 123-year-old hotel in Hanoi, Olfactory Odyssey Exhibition 2024: Scent & Memory brings a unique artistic experience. The harmonious combination of delicate scent works by perfumer Huynh Hai Yen, vivid fragrance paintings by artist Nadia Vitlin and the gentle beauty of Vietnam through paintings by artist Nguyen Thanh Quang will create an inspiring and creative space.

Zone 1: Metropolis Oasis
The first area at Olfactory Odyssey Exhibition 2024 features 15 scent paintings and 15 perfume works by visual artist and Perfumer Nadia Vitlin. Nadia Vitlin is an artist based in Sydney, Australia, with a background in earth and marine sciences. Her art combines the study of nature, humanity, emotions and sociological phenomena with a scientific lens, through her olfactory exploration of perfume and scent in art.
Constantly breaking the boundaries of the world of fragrance, she combines unique and novel ingredients that are hard to find on the market. For her, scent is not just a feeling but also a journey that takes others to new lands in the soul.

Like a portal that takes viewers away from the hustle and bustle of the city to small paradises in the heart of the city, each painting is a journey of discovery through lands from Australia to Asia: the wetlands of western New South Wales, the natural lakes of Kakadu, the hill gardens of Hong Kong Island and many more.
With the “Metropolis Oasis” exhibition space, all senses are awakened. Each painting is not only a visual art but also a unique olfactory experience. The harmonious combination of colors and scents transports the audience to distant lands, where the beauty of nature can be fully enjoyed.

Zone 2: Journey through Scents
Zone 2 of the Olfactory Odyssey Exhibition 2024 takes the audience on an exciting journey of discovery with the “Journey through Scents” collection inspired by the book “Journey of Scents”. 12 paintings and 12 perfumes recreate memorable moments throughout Perfumer Huynh Hai Yen’s journeys over the past decade.
A multi-talented character, Huynh Hai Yen is known as both a book author and a fragrance creator. In addition to publishing books on fragrance such as “Oasis of Fragrance” in 2015, “Secrets of Fragrances” in 2016 and most recently “Journey of Fragrances” in 2024, she is also an impressive name in the field of fragrance in Vietnam with successful brands such as MetaScent, NauNau and Y25.

Huynh Hai Yen has affirmed her position in the international arena by creating scents for prestigious fashion weeks such as Paris Fashion Week 2019 and Melbourne Fashion Week 2021, 2023. Her creations are continuously honored in Fragrances of the World magazine, one of the most prestigious publications on fragrances in the world. In 2024, she continues to shine when taking on the role of judge of the Asian Perfume Awards held in Hong Kong and head of the organizing committee of Olfactory Odyssey Exhibition in Vietnam.
The collection is a fascinating journey of discovery through the world. Through scents and artworks, the audience experiences the characteristics of cities that express the deep connection between Scent and Memory. The 12 scents include Petrichor, Jiufen Twilight, Pai To Love, Kathmandu's Alleys, Los Angeles' Club, Bangkok Noontime, Lhasa Walk, Osmanthus In Chengdu, Kyoto, Marrakesh, Florence.

Zone 3: Scented Scenes of Vietnam
At the Scent & Art exhibition, artist Nguyen Thanh Quang's colorful paintings including Chau Tho, Mien Xanh and Tay Bac are delicately combined with unique scents by artist Huynh Hai Yen, creating an unforgettable multi-sensory art experience.
Living and working in Hanoi, painter Nguyen Thanh Quang has devoted all his heart to recreating daily life in a refined realistic painting style with classical techniques. With skillful hands and a keen eye, he has meticulously depicted every tiny detail, the vibrating touches of light and the meticulousness of color. The love for nature and the pure joy of a pure life are refracted into Nguyen Thanh Quang's paintings, making his color poems gentle and peaceful.
