PC-Covid has been completed and launched on both the App Store and Google Play on the morning of September 30th. Additionally, users can access the website.pccovid.gov.vnTo download the .apk file and try it on your Android device. The file is approximately 57 MB in size, but it's a test version and may not be compatible with all devices.
The application is equipped with 9 main features: Covid-19 Card; Health Declaration; Domestic Travel Declaration; Vaccination and Testing Information; Issuance and Management of Personal and Location QR Codes; QR Code Scanning; Close Contact Tracing; Risk Map; and Feedback.
These features are integrated from a series of previous epidemic prevention applications, such as Bluezone, VHD, VNeID, Electronic Health Book, etc. According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, in the future, the application will be further developed with additional features to better serve the public and align with the epidemic prevention strategy for each stage.

After its release, users will only need to install the PC-Covid application for pandemic prevention purposes. The National Center for Covid-19 Prevention and Control Technology stated that PC-Covid will replace all other applications. After installation and login, data from the old applications will be displayed on PC-Covid, eliminating the need for users to re-enter their information.
The Covid-19 card is one of the key features on PC-Covid. The card's color is displayed based on user data from vaccination management systems, testing management systems, etc. For example, individuals who have received two doses of the vaccine or tested negative will have a green card and be allowed to travel. Those with a yellow card have travel restrictions, while those with a red Covid card are not allowed to travel at all. The QR code generated on PC-Covid is also a unique personal QR code for each citizen, containing information related to epidemic prevention and control.

It is expected that after the launch of PC-Covid, some existing applications, such as Bluezone, VHD, and Ncovi, will be deleted or updated to become PC-Covid. The Electronic Health Book, however, will be maintained and developed in its own direction to serve the future digital transformation of healthcare. Data from these applications will be interconnected. Information on people's health, travel, and contacts will be managed centrally and uniformly, solely for the purpose of epidemic prevention and control.
Previously, Vietnam had about 12 applications supporting epidemic prevention and control, developed by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Public Security, not including local applications. This caused concern among people who had to install multiple applications on their devices. Meanwhile, data between the apps was not fully interconnected, leading to a lack of maximum effectiveness. Therefore, the Government directed that a single application serving epidemic prevention and control be developed, convenient for people to use. After more than two weeks, the PC-Covid application was completed.
