Mr. Duong Tan Hoai and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hong (owners of the Ngon Restaurant/Quan An Ngon chain) were honored to welcome Prime Minister David Cameron and guide his delegation on a tour of the restaurant. With his quick, friendly, and unassuming demeanor, the Prime Minister toured the lobby area and the food stalls before enjoying lunch in the outdoor area with authentic Vietnamese dishes such as Quan Ngon salad, spring rolls, fresh rolls, banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake), pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), and desserts including mangosteen, mango, and dragon fruit, along with other diners of the restaurant.
After his meal, Prime Minister David Cameron once again showed the staff and other diners at the restaurant his friendly and down-to-earth nature by staying to sign autographs and take photos with the management and staff of Ngon Restaurant. "Thanks for a wonderful lunch, truly memorable," was Prime Minister David Cameron's comment.
Ngon Restaurant/Quan An Ngon is a favorite spot for locals, domestic and international tourists, as well as celebrities and politicians from both Vietnam and abroad, thanks to its simple atmosphere and distinctive Vietnamese decor, from the traditional Vietnamese floor tiles to the vibrant yellow lime-washed walls. It's like a mini food fair, where every time you visit, you're left mesmerized by the array of signature dishes from various regions of Vietnam.

What makes Ngon Restaurant/Delicious Eatery special is its skillful preservation of Vietnamese dining customs. Vietnamese culture emphasizes affection and camaraderie, so dishes are always served on a large shared plate, with plenty of soy sauce and fish sauce for everyone. Western diners – accustomed to eating their own meals – will understand why Vietnamese people prefer sharing a meal. From spring rolls and salads to shrimp skewers and chicken rice, everything is imbued with the simple charm of a family meal.
