On the morning of July 22, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province and the People's Committee of Hai Phong city issued a request to stop inland waterway traffic activities due to the impact of storm No. 2. Regarding preparation work, this locality has mobilized more than 2,600 people (including forces), along with hundreds of vehicles to proactively respond to storm No. 2. Many ships have been anchored in the port, carefully tied by fishermen, some small fishing boats are rushing to shore, looking for a safe anchorage.
According to the report, in Quang Ninh, there are nearly 2,000 tourists on the islands of Co To (957 people), Quan Lan (479 people), Minh Chau (489 people) and Ngoc Vung (34 people) who need to stay. The Quang Ninh Department of Tourism and local authorities have asked tourism businesses on the islands to arrange safe accommodation for tourists, while ensuring adequate supply of essential food and provisions.
In response to the developments of storm No. 2 (storm Prapiroon), localities and units in Quang Ninh province have proactively and urgently deployed response plans.
In Cat Hai island district, as of 4:30 p.m., there were still more than 14,000 visitors staying in Cat Ba (more than 2,200 international visitors, more than 11,000 domestic visitors). However, local authorities said they had plans to ensure the safety of visitors and were coordinating with travel companies to bring visitors back to the mainland when the weather permitted.
The storm is forecast to make landfall in Quang Ninh province, so the transport sector has directed road management units to be ready to deploy forces at key locations such as Bai Chay bridge, Ha Long - Van Don highway, overflow tunnels, etc. Bai Chay bridge will be temporarily closed for people and non-motorized vehicles when the wind is above level 6.

Typhoon No. 2 Prapiroon is expected to directly impact Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and other northern coastal provinces in the coming days. Therefore, tourists staying on islands in this area should closely monitor information on the storm's developments and follow the instructions of local authorities to ensure their safety.
Along with that, the units also strictly maintain the regime of command, duty, combat duty, disaster prevention and control, rescue and relief. Implement measures to ensure the safety of warehouses, barracks, vehicles, boats; check and ensure the technical condition of vehicles, equipment, and materials to be ready to respond to situations caused by storms, ensuring absolute safety for people's lives and property.
