On the evening of April 19, the splendid square in front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Headquarters became a brilliant cultural meeting place, where thousands of hearts beat together to witness the impressive opening ceremony of a series of art, sports and technology activities with the theme "Colors of Uncle Ho's City". This special event is the exciting opening for a jubilant festival season, marking an important historical milestone - the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Opening the sparkling night was a creative international 3D mapping performance, gathering the talent and artistry of three teams from countries famous for lighting technology: France, Belgium and Singapore. Each team brought a unique storytelling style on a magnificent architectural background. From familiar cultural icons, outstanding technological advances to fresh contemporary perspectives on a dynamic and modern Ho Chi Minh City, all were recreated vividly and full of surprises.

However, the most impressive and moving moment of the opening night was the proud performance of the host team Vietnam. Under the magical lights, the audience felt like they were on a journey across the length of the beloved S-shaped country. The skillfully lit films emotionally recreated the heroic historical moments of the nation, evoking in each person a deep emotion and gratitude for the glorious history of their ancestors.

From the first hours of the evening, the entire square was packed with people. The atmosphere was bustling and joyful, like the anticipation of the sacred New Year's Eve moment. The opening of the program was a cutting-edge combination of 3D Mapping projection technology and choral symphony music in the piece "Vietnam in Me".


Images representing the diverse beauty of the S-shaped strip of land appeared one after another, from the ancient beauty of Hanoi, the tranquility of Hue, the tranquility of Hoi An, the vibrant life of Da Nang to the prosperity of Ho Chi Minh City, all were vividly and colorfully portrayed, taking the audience on an emotional journey through each region and each unique cultural heritage. In particular, the image of the red flag with yellow star flying proudly, the charming traditional conical hat and the friendly greeting "Hello Vietnam" sent to international friends touched the hearts of thousands of viewers.

In the short but meaningful 12 minutes, the audience seemed to relive the golden pages of the nation's history, from the heroic resistance wars against foreign invaders, to the day the country was reunited and the journey of development, integration and modernization of the country today. Light, sound and color blended together harmoniously, creating eye-catching visual effects, making many viewers exclaim with pride: "Vietnam is so beautiful!".
