To prepare for this important cultural event, on March 5, 2019, the Organizing Committee chaired a press conference at the Saigon Times Club Hall, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. According to Mr. Tang Quang Anh, Deputy Director of the Investment - Trade Promotion Center and Can Tho Exhibition Fair, at the 2019 Southern Traditional Cake Festival, there will be 200 booths, of which 100 booths will display Southern traditional cakes, 100 booths will display specialties of other regions.
The theme of the 2019 Southern Traditional Cake Festival is “Southern Flavors”. Last year, the festival attracted 500,000 domestic and foreign visitors, 17 provinces and 8 countries around the world, over 200 booths displaying and promoting 100 types of traditional cakes, sales revenue reached 250 billion VND.

The festival is a national cultural event held annually (this year is the 8th year the festival has been held) to introduce, promote and preserve the traditional cakes of the South to domestic and international tourists. The festival also creates opportunities for tourists to experience the culinary culture of the Southern region.
The venue for the 2019 Southern Traditional Cake Festival is the Can Tho Investment - Trade Promotion and Exhibition Fair Center (No. 108A Le Loi Street, Cai Khe Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City). The highlight of the 2019 Southern Traditional Cake Festival is the area recreating the ancient space with tools, artisans directly demonstrating and instructing how to make traditional cakes. In addition, there is a buffet area for traditional cakes with nearly 100 types of cakes to serve domestic and foreign tourists. The festival will also introduce Vietnamese teas with over 50 types of teas and traditional drinks from traditional to creative.
