After September 30th, when the mobility app managed by the Ministry of Public Security begins operating, people in Ho Chi Minh City will be allowed to go out without needing a travel permit as they do currently.

On the evening of September 13th, Mr. Le Hoa Binh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, answered people's questions about "Ho Chi Minh City's plan for epidemic prevention and economic recovery after September 15th" via livestream in the program "People Ask - City Answers".

People are wondering if travel permits will still be used after September 30th. Mr. Binh stated that currently there are 17 groups of people eligible for travel permits. After September 6th, these permits will be extended until September 15th; however, after September 30th, Ho Chi Minh City will no longer use travel permits but will instead use the VNEID mobility application managed by the Ministry of Public Security. Citizen data will be updated on this application, and anyone who meets the safety requirements for traveling (vaccinated, safe destination, adhering to the 5K guidelines, etc.) will be allowed to travel without a travel permit.

Regarding the public's opinion that Ho Chi Minh City currently has too many applications, Mr. Binh explained that the Prime Minister has directed that only one application should be used in the future. The city is currently considering a plan, and the Department of Information and Communications is responsible for integrating everything into a single application for easier management.
