The A'Design Award is an international award that aims to provide designers, architects, and creatives from all design fields with an opportunity to showcase their achievements and products to a global audience. With a diverse range of design award categories, the A'Design Award stands out for its outstanding scale; over 100 award categories, and over 1,000 awards are given to designers from all over the world every year.
The Jury is composed of the Ministry of Culture, the European Design Association, the International Federation of Architects and Interior Designers, the International Council of Telecommunications Design, the International Council of Industrial Design, etc. The award was first given in 2010 with the aim of promoting architecture from Italy to the world. This year, 45,906 people participated in the competition and 4% of them were selected for the award. A total of 1,962 winners came from 99 design fields and 100 countries.
Step House is a villa-style resort hotel located in Vinh Phuc, half an hour drive from Hanoi. The design is a combination of computer-generated geometry and traditional Vietnamese design methods, without relying solely on mechanical equipment such as air conditioning and other functional materials. The result is a reduction in environmental burden in both construction and operation time, creating a harmonious space suitable for the local climate.
Sharing about the special design of the project, Mr. Takemori Hiroomi - Director of the company, emphasized: “The entire project is perforated, by synthesizing the direction and time of the house's shadow. We chose the shape and direction of the house to have the lowest heat by synthesizing and making a design decision. In addition, I adopted the method of designing the wooden roof, so that this wooden joint is transmitted to the corner that can be expanded immediately, making the space expanded. This ensures the ventilation of the entire house”.
