I took these photos after the first wave of the pandemic had ended across Italy. The cities were now enveloped in an unfamiliar silence and quiet. Looking at it positively, this was also an opportunity for people to appreciate what they had.

Bergamo is a city in the Lombardy region of northern Italy, nestled at the foot of the Alps. In March 2020, it was the epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic in Italy, with the highest number of cases in the country. From its past "collapse," Bergamo gradually transformed itself into a proactive city with rigorous pandemic prevention measures. When the second wave of Covid-19 outbreaks returned to Italy, Bergamo truly achieved an extraordinary feat – recording the lowest number of infections nationwide.

Với dân số khoảng 122 nghìn người, Bergamo là thành phố lớn thứ tư của Bergamo và là thủ phủ của tỉnh Normandy

With a population of approximately 122,000, Bergamo is the fourth largest city in the province of Normandy and the capital of the province.

Can you guess what the first thing people here did after the city was locked down for two months? For Vietnamese people, it might immediately come to mind pho, but for Italians – with their centuries-old tradition of "let's have a cup of coffee" – they quietly headed to a nearby café.
