The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District (Hanoi) has just announced the temporary suspension of activities at the walking spaces around Hoan Kiem Lake during the Tet holiday.
Specifically, the suspension will start from February 9 (Lunar New Year's Eve) and reopen from 7:00 p.m. on February 23 (January 14).
The scope of application includes walking space in Hoan Kiem Lake area and vicinity; walking streets in the Old Quarter area.
Hanoi will temporarily suspend activities at the walking streets around Hoan Kiem Lake from February 9-23.
According to the district, the above move is to facilitate people and tourists to travel conveniently during the Tet holiday.
The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District requested units and People's Committees of wards in the area to proactively coordinate and well implement assigned tasks, ensuring urban security and order, traffic safety and order, environmental sanitation, fire prevention and fighting, and safety for people and tourists.
On New Year's Eve, according to plan, there will be two fireworks displays in the Hoan Kiem Lake area, in front of the headquarters of the Hanoi Moi newspaper and in front of the Hanoi Post Office.
Hoan Kiem Lake walking street is a crowded place for tourists to come and have fun during holidays and Tet.
