The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District (Hanoi) has just announced the temporary suspension of activities in the pedestrian areas around Hoan Kiem Lake during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Dragon.
Specifically, the suspension will begin on February 9th (the 30th day of the Lunar New Year) and will resume at 7 PM on February 23rd (the 14th day of the first lunar month).
The scope of application includes the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake and its vicinity; and pedestrian streets in the Old Quarter.
Hanoi will temporarily suspend activities in the pedestrian areas around Hoan Kiem Lake from February 9th to 23rd.
According to the district, this move aims to facilitate travel for residents and tourists enjoying the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Hoan Kiem District People's Committee requests that all units and the People's Committees of the wards in the district proactively coordinate and effectively implement the assigned tasks, ensuring urban security and order, traffic safety, environmental sanitation, fire prevention and control, and safety for residents and tourists.
On New Year's Eve of the Year of the Dragon (Giáp Thìn), according to the plan, there will be two fireworks displays in the Hoàn Kiếm Lake area: one in front of the Hanoi Moi newspaper office and the other in front of the Hanoi Post Office.
The Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian street is a popular spot attracting many tourists from all over the country to enjoy themselves during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year).
